Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Granola Bars

Perfect for those who are craving something sweet

3 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup less grease (crushed) unsalted peanuts
1/4 cup semisweet Hershey’s chocolate chips
1 egg white.

Mix egg white in a bowl with a hand mixer until it’s frothy.

Fold in peanut butter sugar honey and oil, then fold the oats in.

Add chocolate chips and peanuts.

Fold it in and press the mixture in a 9x13 pan

Bake at 175 deg Celsius for 20 minutes.

Cool for 2 hours (1 hour room temp, 1 hour fridge)

Cut into 26 bars.

Freeze for better storage.
156 calories per bar, half a bar is enough for me actually ♥

Yum! I am going to have to try these!
Just curious...do you think in this recipe that the canola oil could be replaced with unsweetened applesauce without changing the texture/taste too much?

I'll have to try these . . . I'm not normally a sweets person, but have been craving candy since Halloween. I just mowed through two "fun" size bags of Skittles today. :blushing:

I think it wouldn't be a bar with apple sauce, it would be a yummy sticky granola though! Yum yum <3
