Cleanse ideas - realistic ones

I'm looking for good "cleanse" diets (for a day or 2), but that aren't "crazy" fasts.
What do you eat for a day or 2 (or more or less) to try and refocus, cleanse your palate and detox slightly?
Food has gotten to where almost nothing tastes good, yet I eat tons trying to find something that does.
Ideas? Suggestions?

What are you trying to "cleanse" & "detox"?0

If you really want to reconnect with food, I'd suggest going (oh please forgive me for saying the word) "clean" Veggies, fruits, unprocessed, lean meats and see how that makes you feel. I really can't support a cleanse although I sometimes fast for spiritual reasons.0

You're looking for a cleanse diet that isnt a crazy fad.

Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Forget it. Just eat healthy foods. Fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole grains, water.0

The first, and most important, step is to figure out what exactly you want this cleanse to accomplish.
As far as detoxing goes, I don't believe that you'll be able to name any sort of toxins or build up that our bodies don't handle naturally. In those extreme cases where a medical condition causes the body to be unable to cleanse itself there is no diet that will help.
If you're just bored with your food then my strategy is always trying new things instead of looking for a cleanse. Make it a challenge to use absolutely none of your usual recipes for a week. Try new ingredients. Look for new spices, new marinates, new vegetables and cuts of meat.0 -
Pee, poop, brush your teeth and take a shower.0

Eat healthy food. You know what they are (more or less).0

I call my cleanses "taking a dump"0

I generally take a nice long shower for a cleanse. Use some nice smelling soap, a good shampoo. Take a nice poo first if you really want a complete inside/outside cleanse.0

This. Your profile says you love food. So make it an adventure. Buy a new recipe book and have fun with it.0 -
Pee, poop, brush your teeth and take a shower.
This. The winner. :drinker:0 -
My suggestion would be not to do it.
Also nice fresh fruits and veggies, which taste better than the processed/frozen/canned stuff. Maybe some organic meats if you can get your hands on them (I have a hard time going organic locally, but not everyone lives in Podunk, LOL).
FWIW. Of course, that's just my humble opinion.
<- I try to put those in where my tone may not be perceived as how it was meant. :flowerforyou:0 -
But for realsies, whenever food doesn't taste good because I'm eating too much crap, I eat a lot of vegetables since it was all going to taste bad anyway. You know the drill. Lean meats, who grains, fruits, veggies, beans, etc. Things you should be eating anyway.0

First you are going to need an old priest and a young priest0

eat high fiber foods, yogurt, sauerkraut, fruit (esp grapes!!) and keifer, drink coffee
Cut out all processed foods and eat healthy whole raw foods I also look for foods with no added sugars.
Cleanse accomplished.. and it will only take a week, if that
and you'll feel better.0 -
Day 1) Eat a balanced, nourishing diet of tasty foods that you enjoy in the correct quantities. Avoid ingesting snake venom, heavy metals and nerve agents.
Day 2) Much the same as day 1.
A slightly more helpful suggestion would be to learn to cook - buy some recipe books and experiment. With all the food choices available you shouldn't ever feel jaded.0 -
Your body detoxes itself quite well. You don't need some 2 day (or whatever day) special unicorn pee diet.0

Okay, you made me laugh and you have a pic of a guy planking on a motorcycle. Win.0 -
Drink enough water, let your kidneys and colon do their thing.
As far as palate cleansing, I dunno... ginger? Track your food for a bit, see if there is any major macronutrient or micronutrient that you are consistently missing. Find a food rich in it, try it, enjoy.0 -

This^^ try eating super clean and avoid salt and make extra sure you get your water.0 -
Eat cauliflower. And only cauliflower.
Every day. Every meal. For a week.
I'd be willing to be that, by the end (if you don't kill yourself first from food frustration), you will love all the foods again.
ETA: not serious0 -
Perhaps you could just let your liver do its job? That seems pretty realistic to me.0

Pee, poop, brush your teeth and take a shower.
