50lbs later!

Hi y'all! My name is Mallory. I am 26 years old. I've been a member since June of 2011 and finally got into the swing of things. I was in a bad relationship with food and im slowly getting out of it. I would eat if I were upset about anything. If something made me mad I'd eat. I finally met a guy who accepted me for me and would do anything for me. He doesn't put me down or make me feel bad if I decide to eat something that I would call "bad". He supports me like no one else has.

I started my journey in June 2010 I'd lost 15lbs in a month! I was super happy. Then I made it to my first goal of 35 lbs and started gaining it all back. By January of 2012 I was back up to 306 again. Which was my highest weight. I got scared and started losing a little at a time. I started seeing results and so did others. I am super excited about losing the rest. I'm aiming for another 110!

    Fantastic Mallory!
I too an emotional eater. I'm in my 50's now and I can tell you it doesn't change unless you do something about it! Which you are.
I've yo yo-ed upwards most of my life but to be fair to myself I have some success over the years which has led me to this point. I don't want to preach but I have had some success with the emotional side of eating by reading Jon Gabriel, who doesn't have a diet you follow but promotes emotional healing through meditation and stuff. Exercise too of course.
I feel truly ready to let go of junk food forever which includes good old SUGAR in the form of highly refined Carbohydrate. I'm in the zone at the moment so I am losing. Its easy to wake up out of the zone too of course.

Anyway! Never give up giving up. It works for people who stop smoking so it can work for weightloss!!

I signed on to post really happy NSV but "meeting" you terrific ladies encouraged me to stop and say HI!if you told me one year ago that I'd be where I am right now, I would have laughed at them, bought myself a box of cupcakes, eaten them all, and cried myself to sleep.
What turned me around? A potentially major health problem (or two or three) that I KNEW were directly related to what I was doing to myself. So over the course of a day, I stopped. COLD!
NO trying-cutting down-watching what I was eating-gradual lifestyle adjustment. Did all that before, lots of times, no progress.
I JUST STOPPED, no grain, no dairy, no added salt, no added sugar.
Veggies, egg whites, one whole egg, nuts, berries.
I should also mention that every day of my life before I stopped was a ghastly emotional battle with myself over my disordered eating, and I never, ever won.
Now I wake up every morning looking forward to what's going to happen.
My NSV? Today I wore a beautiful pair of black heels, and lived to tell about it it. I was attending a Sunday Tea, and even in the presence of a delicious (looking) layout, I honestly had no interest, because vastly improved health is better than what was available to put in my mouth. First time in my life I've ever felt this way.
Keep seeking your personal solutions and NEVER give up. You and your life and your health are SO worth it.
