The stress of new work, new culture and language did their work, and i started stress eating and got 10-13 kilos up. I looked up online and i want to start 1600 calories diet but i need some help finding something that is going to be healthy and easy to do so that i dont quit after a week or so. Any help/advice/tip/hint is welcomed

  • Read labels when you go grocery shopping. Eat lots of fresh veggies and fruits.
When I first started changing the way I ate I gave myself a budget (like I do with my money). I budget so many calories for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. This helps keep me on track for the day.
I let myself eat anything I want, but it has to fit into my calorie goal for the day (or week). Sometimes if I know something big is coming up (party, eating out, Thanksgiving) I will eat a little less than my calorie goal for the day so the next day I can eat a little more. I save before I spend.

Think about what you eat now, see how many calories are in it and how it will fit into your calorie budget for the day. If it has too many calories think about ways to reduce them or an alternative that may be healthier. It's a process, don't try to change everything overnight.

There are plenty of posts on MFP about menu plans and recipes, look around on the food & nutrition board as well as the recipes board.

I love food.com for finding recipes, you can sort them by things like quick & easy, 5 or fewer ingredients, etc.

    Good luck on your journey.

The easiest and least-stress diet is to eat smaller portions of the foods you currently eat.. not eat new foods that someone else tells you to eat. Fat loss is mostly about a calorie deficit, so portion control is essential here. Try to reduce portions of foods with low nutritional value.

  • Calculate your BMR/TDEE.
    Eat Less than your TDEE
    Move More.

Plan to eat fewer calories than you do now. That's the only diet plan you need. :drinker:

I've found that eating a whole foods diet with no processed foods, has been really easy and really effective. If you don't waste money on prepackaged foods, you can instead buy fruits, veggies, leans meats, etc. that taste so much better. Now that I haven't eaten processed foods in a few months, I actually don't like the taste of anything processed... too sweet! Plus, whole foods are naturally more nutrient dense while having less calories, so you'll have an easier time eating without going over your calorie goal. 1 apple > 1 pack of crisps, IMHO. Good luck!!!!
