Just to add my two cents worth. There are a few other factors such as genetics, age, and as many have already mentioned excercise routine. I would add to it (from my personal experience) is diet. Much of the tummy hang/belly fat is related to carbohydrates. If you have not already done so try to increase your protein and reduce your intake of carbohydrates-I don't advocate anything drastic, I am a fan of moderation. Most importantly don't give up-give it time.

Have to agree with rnprincess, I gave up my premium microbrew every night, and that actually seemed to have help. I think it was the refined carbs, because I didn't change overall calorie consumption or exercise.

Oh yes, I hardly ever eat my favorite white rice because it's a bad source of carbs, I cut out all the white carbs, I eat red potatoes once in awhile and brown rice once in awhile but have found a love with brown rice. I have slacked off on carbs a lot lately, besides this past weekend, anyways, I'm back to my plan and work on losing the bit of a pooch I still have left.

Well i guess that settles it then. I'll never have a flat stomach then because i refuse to count or cut back carbs. That's okay, i'm good with my flat-TER tummy

One kid, one c-section and I definitely have the "overhang" issue. I think with clothes though, I look ok, so I really don't stress about it too much. Without clothes my skin is droopy and gross, but without surgery, it's not going to go anywhere at this point. You just have to learn to live with it. Yes diet and exercise will reduce the fat, but the loose skin isn't going to go down significantly.

Here's a before and "right now" pic, clothes are on though so you can't see my tummy too much.

Just eat the good carbs and leave the bad ones out, it can happen. Brown rice instead of white rice, wheat bread instead of white bread, so on. I'm not a fan of wheat bread so I might have flat bread but don't do it often.I don't deprive myself but I know what I want most and food isn't it, I feel for me personally I can sacrifice a few of my favorites in place of the healthier choices. Not everyone wants the same thing which is perfectly fine :).

    BTW you look fantastic.

I've had two kids myself and yes, totally have the tummy sag thing going. I do still have a bit but it looks A LOT better than it used to.

I noticed the biggest difference in general when I started lifting weights, I really do recommend it.

  • I'm just starting this site to eat better and get healthy! I have had 2 children and 1 c-section and have the hanging belly also. I had to have back surgery almost a year ago a discetomy on my lower back and am getting ready to start pt so for now I am starting with eating better and hopefully with time i will be able to do the excersising portion of it but I still have pain with my back and my left leg still has a numb feeling down it. Trying to stay positive I can do this for me and my kids! Also I have a question what is ALPHA T25?

Focus 25 is a workout program by Shaun T. the creator of Insanity. It's intense but only 25 minutes a day and brings results if you work hard for them :)

Is there anyone who has a VERTICAL Cesarean scar that has improved?
Right now, I have buttocks both fore and aft, as well as an overhang. .

I've never had a c- section but had my gallbladder removed when i was pregnant & appendix removed 2 weeks after delivery. I have several incisions on my stomach that look indented, especially the one above my navel. Of all the things wrong with my tummy area (stretch marks, belly hang, scars), the indentions (scar tissue?) from the surgeries are the worst.

I have a serious belly over hang as well. Too many abdominal surgeries. I do know when my body fat got below 15 then the over hang was barely noticeable. I won't ever get that low again due to health issues but I sure want it to go down so I feel more comfortable with my husband.

Can I/we see? Not an overall pic but a small one? I have gallbladder surgery on Monday as well as a lap for endometriosis :( I'm scared.

Two c-sections and I had my second child 4 years ago at 40 years old. Just find an exercise program that you enjoy doing! I did Jillian michael's extreme shred and shed, 30 day shred, Insanity and soon to finish T25. A healthy diet and exercise will tighten it up! You can do it

I have a horrible sagging overhang too, I don't think the lose skin on mine is going anywhere but if it's not filled with fat I'm hoping it will look better! Long way to go.
