OMG!!! O-M-G!! This new Just Dance works your bootay off. It takes me a while to start sweating but this got me going pretty quickly. My heart rate was up by the middle of the first song and I love the "Just Sweat" mode. Oh, and did mention it evens logs your calories burned. I did 5 songs and burned over 800 calories. I tell you that dancing makes me a lot happier than running on a treadmil! I will keep everyone updated as to how the weight comes off. Wish me luck because if this works I won't be going back to the "BORING" gym for the treadmil anylonger!! Plus, it has Proud Mary and that will make you really enjoy your workout!!

Is this on the Wii fit? I have that, but don't remember seeing it. Or is this a different program?0 -
Just Dance 1 was for remote only.
I have seen some serious caloric burn from this program as well! Especially when you are competing against someone!0 -
I have Just dance 1, I will have to go and get the new one!!!
Thanks!
PS I cant wait for the zumba wii game!!0 -
I LOVE this game. I don't think the 'sweat points' it keeps track of are actual calories, I would use an HRM to find out for sure. It is a great workout though, I love 'body movin' and 'move your feet' among many others. The game is so much more than the original Just Dance. I can't stop playing it! No, it has nothing to do with the WiiFit. I would rate this game as much more effective cardio wise than doing WiiFit. I hold a dead remote in my left hand so that my right arm isn't getting more tired. There is also a "Dance Workout" by Ubisoft too. I didn't like this one, but it does use 2 remotes and counts calories.
What kind of scores do you get? I am just cracking the 10000 level with the new game on most songs and was around 19000-22000 on the old game. There were certain moves (usually the simple ones) that I just could never get right. It drove me nuts!0 -

I got Just Dance for the kids last weekend, it is soooo much fun. I have to totally agree with you, it is sooo much better then the treadmill. Only, I didn't know that it could log calories burned, I have to check that out. But usually we're playing it as dance battle or one on one.
love just dance.:happy:0 -
My girls and I absolutely love this. My favorite dance is the Reggaeton and the Russian dance. So far my highest score is 6300 but the 9 yr old actualloy scored 8500 points, the 4 year old tends to score 4000 but every morning she comes down and we turn on the Wii and she plays it by herself:laugh:

P.S. It can be rented at Blockbuster and that is how I found it initially. It was soooooo much fun that we traded in two Wii games and bought it two days after renting:laugh:0 -
I just researched it and found that there are some great reviews on it. I decided to order Just Dance, and Just Dance 2 on Amazon. I am really excited about it as I get bored with the treadmill and the stationary bike pretty quickly and Illinois winters are really long - I want to keep moving and not gain back all the reduced weight over the last 4 months.
Thanks for posting this.

I love the D.A.N.C.E dance and I am guessing this one is most like the game that is specifically for kids. Have any of you who have kids tried the dance game that is for kids??? (I am not sure of the name). I considered getting it, because I'll get anything that is like Just Dance (Michael Jackson game coming soon!!!).0

I just used this for 45 minutes and used my HRM while using the Just Sweat mode. I got 2500 or so sweat points. My HRM showed I burned 270 calories. So I really wouldn't use the game's points as your calorie count.
It is still a great burn (since I'm pretty tiny, I don't burn many calories) and this burned more calories than my intense cardio interval workout and it was a lot more fun!0 -
Hi i love the idea of this game i don't have a Wii any more is there a different game for ps2 or dvd similar?
I do have a ministry of sound pump it up dvd but my co-ordination is terrible lol and i find some of it hard to follow! Any ideas?
Thanks0 -
I just bought this too! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I was a sweatin' machine. I already warned my BF that I'd be doing Proud Mary til I master the Tina Booty shake hahaha0

I realize that this is an older post, but I was looking for a calorie-converter, and based on this, I think it would be safe to guesstimate (if you're like me and you aren't anal about "exact" amount of calories burned) that 10 sweat points = 1 calorie. I'm going to input this into the system using this method.
Thanks!0 -
Is it just the remote or do you need the platform?0
-
Just the remote0
-
I absolutely LOVE this game!! I dance everynight anywhere from an hour to 2.5 hours!! FEEEEEEL the burn!!!!0

I have been playing Just Dance 2 with the kids all week. We do several battles then they make me do the sweat mode. They say that way I have the support and keep going. They also put me on the intense workout and OMG is this a lot to do. However it is so fun. So I still have 3 days to finish my first week and I need about 7000 calories to meet the weekly goal of 14,000. I am glad the kids have more faith in me than I do... LOL:laugh: Keep up the good work all!0

My daughter got the kid's version from Grandma & Grandpa for Christmas. We are planning to dance our way into the New Year tonight!0

I just read a post that indicated that the "Just Dance 2" sweat option logs your calories. From some research the Sweat points are not equal to calories. I was vary sad to find that out, but it does make sense that if you dance 5 dances you can earn up to 2000 sweat points, which normally on a treadmill you would need to run an hour or more to burn 2000 calories.0

I played this with my nieces on Christmas...it was so much fun! My 7 year old niece beat the pants off of me! :laugh:0

I think that 10 points = 1 calorie is a good estimate for calorie burn. This game truely does burn the calories. I absolutely love it!0 -

I looked online and couldn't locate it in any other form but Wii, XBox Kinect and PS3. The game itself is worth purchasing the Wii, in my opion. I get a great burn out of the games I play on the Wii.0 -
I just got Dance Central for the Xbox Kinect. Its pretty awesome as well. I did play Just Dance2, at my in law's house during the holidays which is why I bought Dance Central to begin with. I do like the Kinect version better, just because I dont have to hold the remote and it seems to track your whole bodies movement. But both are still pretty awesome. The Michael Jackson Experience is pretty cool too.0

We saw the New Year in dancing to Just Dance 2. Much better songs than the original. Great Fun and I'm really enjoying my exercise routine.0

I did some research on Nintendo and other places and found that for every 4.2 sweat drops, you burn 1 calorie. So you take the sweat drops divide by 4.2 and you get a rough idea on how many calories burned.
You should use a HRM to be exact, but if you don't have one, this gives you a ballpark figure.0 -
I don't think that it can possibly be 4.2 points per cal for everyone, as I have burned 4800 sweat points in 45 minutes and there is no way I burned over a 1000 cals, I think 10 points per cal is a much more realistic for someone in my weight range which is 131 pounds. I guess you will burn more the heavier you are though? Like you say a hrm would be the safest bet.0
-
Well, i've done the workout and it has been awesome. I've never felt better and it beats the treadmill. Anyone know of a good cleanse?0
-
Using a hrm, I am burning 4.9 calories per point. I love it!0
-
I just bought this and did it tonight because I was so excited to try it out. I did 30 minutes worth and burned about 1000 sweat points. I'm 215lbs so I'm probably closer to the 4.2 sweat point conversion. I'll have to get a HRM to be sure.0
-
if you actually get into the dance and do what they do on the screen you burn more, because the controller only picks up the arm movements that you do, not your whole body.0
