are weekends more difficult food-wise for anyone?

they are for me. work gives me structure. without it...I am in no man's land. I have to make my own structure, but that has always been a challenge for me. It is zero degrees here, and I have no motivation to leave the house. sometimes I feel like I am on an airplane...just passing time watching movies and waiting until the flight attendants come around with my next meal.

The weekend is like a black hole for me, especially if I am feeling down or not motivated. Work keeps me busy and occupied. I find that if I exercise first thing in the morning, my weekend days are more likely to not go downhill. The trick is to stay busy. Not sure what your situation is, but I try to make plans with friends, go to a gym class, clean. I don't watch tv until the night.
I also don't keep obviously bad foods around, especially on the weekends because I will just eat them before noon, lol.

Nope, my worst days are the ones where I truly do little (no work, no gym, just sit on sofa all day) and I find out my true calorie burn for the day is terribly low :(

Definitely. During the week you have more things to keep you occupied from eating (work, school, etc.). When the weekend hits, you're either out with friends or lazing around and both usually lead to eating more.

No not at all..... I have 3 meals and 3 snacks daily regardless of what day it is... The only exception is like today I am going to pick up Pizza for the game this afternoon (3:30 EST) So I ate a little bigger breakfast and did not have lunch since we are eating so early... Slight modifications to hit my caloric intake and allow me a few extra calories from combining 2 meals allows me to still meet my goals but over all my days are pretty much the same..... Best of Luck
  • Yes! But mine isn't because I have nothing to do, it's because I have too much to do on weekends. Going to see a movie, hanging out with friends - there's just a lot of temptation to not make good choices when you're surrounded by people that aren't trying to lose weight and be healthy. Beer is especially hard to resist! I actually do better on days when we're loafing around the house.

But you just have to keep up your mental strength. While the temptation is there, you don't have to take it. I try to make sure I at least workout one day during the weekend so I can have a beer or two with friends if I feel like it, and don't have to worry about the guilt afterwards when I log it in. You just have to find your balance. :drinker:

Weekends are easier because on weekdays I don't have time to cook sometimes.
