i have rice for lunch, and i track it in MFP to stay below calorie goal...
my friend says regardless of calories, rice is bad for weight loss, even if i end up below my calorie goal for the day.
is it so???

Wrong. Losing weight is up to calories in vs out. Enjoy your rice, ignore the friend0

Did your friend give any reason for that conclusion? Like a science based one?
Don't believe everything you hear, dude!0 -

Your friend is an idiot.
For simple weight loss it's as simple as staying UNDER your TDEE. There's no rocket science involved and carbs are NOT bad despite what people say. People who stay away and are scared of carbs have no idea about nutrition.0 -

Also I don't know what kind of rice you're eating but if you're eating the lightly processed brown rice types, maybe they're actually good for weight loss...objectively.0
