I just started Stronglifts today. The first workout felt relatively easy while I was doing it, but feel it in the legs for sure now! So far I really like this heavy lifting stuff, as long as I can still walk when I get up in the morning!

Thanks everyone who has responded, please feel free to add me :) It's great to see how many of you are out there, most of the women at the gym just jump on the elliptical or treadmil (I'm too uncoordinated for the elliptical ha ha ha) and I'm just hanging out in the "Ga-Douche" section (for some of you, then "mens" weight lifting section) Ha ha ha

I am confused. Why do you call the free weights section the "Ga-Douche" section?

I started stronglifts a few weeks ago and love it, anyone in this thread feel free to add me! I certainly don't eat clean, I do try to stick to my macros and log everything I eat.

Yes! I started lifting heavy things recently (I am following the New RUles of Lifting for Women) and I much prefer it to cardio. Now I just need to buy some more weights because they're already not enough for me. Who knew? I look forward to my weight nights now, much more so than my running nights.

I've started lifting recently. Not quite heavy yet but I'm working on it.

I'd love to have more lifting ladies in my feed.

Ha ha ha! Because at my gym, all these douche bags hang out in that area (all bulked up) not doing much and playing on their phones oh and also flex and yell "Ga-Douche" and that hopefully should explain it all or check this out

You must go to a really really weird gym. I have met some really great and encouraging guys (as well as some twats) at gyms I have been at and would hate for them to be tarnished with the same d'bag brush as a few plonkers.
  • What to eat to lose weight can not solve the problem, but to solve the problem of what to eat. Key to weight loss is diet, total diet, eating habits determine the extent of a person's obesity. To solve the obesity problem, or from eating habits, living habits begin. Woman is not recommended to lose weight through diet pills, so the greatest impact on the woman's body, or through proper exercise is better!

I would say it's the time that I go, as I get stared at like I don't belong ha ha ha, especially when I'm deadlifting 77kgs LOL! That and I'm pretty short too (158cm) and a little "chubby so it looks pretty funny. Its just the Ga-Douche section (or Ga-Doosh as per Family Guy) because its all heavy lifters in there, it's not really meant as in insult, just as a nickname for that section

I posted on my FB and MFP wall a 115 lb woman DL 315. X_x looks me look like a baby lifter if you look at weight proportions.

I do strength training & circuit training almost exclusively. However my preferred implements are sandbags, suspension trainers, kettlebells, and bodyweight work.

I love lifting. I think it's helped me greatly in the weightloss department, plus it's given me greater mobility than what I've had before.

Hi!! I love to lift!!! I am currently nursing a hip injury, so I am sidelined. :(. Can't wait to get back at it! I also did the warrior dash this year and immediately signed up for next year's! Feel free to add me.

Yeah, add me for sure! I started a few months back and I love the way it feels after a lifting session! I lift at home, but a friend kindly donated a lot of equipment to me.

I add some functional training to my usual weight lifting, I eat cleanish in the sense that yes, i do eat packaged food ,but it's ok cos it doesn't have 1000 ingredients nor is high in sugar or sodium and it does help me up my protein intake ( vegan here ) the rest is fruits, veggies, legumes, seeds, grains, etc.

I workout 5-6 days a week . I barely do cardio, except from the burpess and stuff like that.

I lift and LOVE it. Lifting 3x a week, and I just do some light cardio like walking a few times a week because I enjoy it. But lifting is my main form of exercise.

I love lifting! I always lift heavy (for me lol) I don't crossfit..I.have a home gym that I play in 3-6x a week (sometimes Mom duty gets in the way and I'm too tired at the end of the day) but I focus on the big compound movements with some accessory work. im cutting cals to lose weight but working out for the challenge and becase I simply love it! this week I was able to push myself to bench 95x3.5 (and 105x1 lol) squat 135x5, and deadlift 115x7. I know I can deadlift more but I'm.increasing that one extra slooow becase I'm afraid of injury. so I'm not super strong but I push myself and have come a long way since my 55lb bench, 85lb squat, and 65lb deadlift lol
