Searching for "tested" & "approved" soup recipes
Yup. that's right!
I am searching for low fat/healthy versions of:
- French onion soup
- Pea soup
I know I could Google it, but I want recipes that someone actually tried and liked! So I am asking you guys!
So the classic onion soup, we all know what it is! Or your special version!
And the pea soup... I've always liked the one in "sugar shacks" when it's maple syrup season, or the "Habitant" French-Canadian pea soup (Can), which is high in sodium and calories. So I am searching for a "sugar shack" healthy version.
Thanks!

Pea soup is easy.
Empty a bag of frozen peas into a saucepan with a finely diced leek and loads of garlic. Add some finely diced fat free bacon or cooked ham hock, loads of black pepper and a ham, chicken or veggie stock cube. Cover with water and simmer until everything is well cooked. Blitz with a hand blender and garnish with a sprig of mint.
Leave out the bacon if you're veggie and use minted peas for extra flavour.0 -
Seems like the secret to good soup is seasoning it to your choice. I started making soup for the first time this month. Put it in the crockpot the nite before you plan to eat it a few hours. If you don't like your seasoning, you can adjust it. When it's good for you you can microwave a bowl for each meal. Works for chili too.0

I don't eat either soup since i don't eat red meat or pork.
But one of the bloggers I follow has a french onion soup:

And another blogger has pea soup:

Not a problem!
If you are looking for soups in general, I like most of the ones I've made from skinnytaste.
I made her crockpot minestrone but I added chicken breasts in it and sooooo good.
The picante chicken and black bean soup wasn't good in my opinion.
I like her tomato soup as well.
Used her turkey noodle soup as a guideline for my own.
Didn't like her butternut squash soup recipe but I don't think I did it right lol0 -

Healthy sugar shack pea soup? Lol, that's an oxymoron. That pea soup is famous, and luscious, because it has foie gras in it!0
