**New Zealand** pedometer recommendations please?

needs to be under $30, and be basic - distance, calories, steps. It's for Mum (62).

    mmmm they have those at Jenny Craig so that would probz be pretty sweet.... but you should seriously consider saving up for a fitbit: http://www.fitbit.com/nz/store, they're pretty badass :) they sell them at **** smith or you can get them online.

    I think that is how I found my pedometer. Mine was $50 though. It's a G-SENSOR Accelerometer. The site delivers to NZ

    It's not for me, it's for Dad to give Mum in her xmas present and he only wants to spend $30 on this bit lol. Thanks though.

    I ended up getting a trademe one that does weight, length of stride, age etc as factors in calorie burn for $9. If it only lasts a year, I'll get her a better one next year. :)

    Awesome. Glad you found 1.

    I had many cheap 1's & just got sick of them being crappy. So took the plunge & got a better one. Mine does the weight, age, stride, calories burned etc. but if your Dad doesn't want to spend too much, fair enough. Awesome that it was well within the budget. I hope she enjoys it :smile:

    At 62 I think we can still work out a more complicated pedometer;) I am 62 and have a fitbit. After getting the cheaper ones (that in my experience are nowhere near accurate) I decided to go with the fitbit. $30 could be a waste of money if it doesn't work properly. I have had a few cheaper ones and gave up to them.

    She prefers things simple. it's not an age thing, it's an Í know my mother' thing. Until we know if she'll use it a cheaper one is best
