to your body there is no difference.. the idea of good carbs and bad carbs was created by pseudo scientists.
just eat a balanced diet and dont eat more food than your body needs and you will be fine0 -
Here is a list of Atkins rated foods. Also I think there are low carb groups active in this community.

Good or bad for what?0 -
Carbs are carbs - no such thing as good and bad carbs!
Low carbs diet? Why? Fast weight loss? Realistically you are not feeding muscles - dropping glycogen levels to unhealthy sub normal standards and dropping water stores.0 -

Maybe take a look at this website - http://www.diabetesaustralia.com.au/en/NDSS-Content/Diabetes-Information-Sheets/The-Glycemic-Index4/0 -
Good carbs are fruit and veges full of nutrients and packed with fibre. Bad carbs are starchy carbs (pasta / rice / cereal / any form of sugar / most root vegetables and wheat flours). I'm not a science type person - and my extremely basic understanding is that all carbs are converted by the body to sugar. Good carbs contain mostly fibre, and fibre isn't converted into sugar. The body will burn sugar (and other things your body treats as toxins / alcohols / poisons) before it burns fat.
Best of luck!0 -
I'm sorry I cant help myself:
Bad carbs? let me tell you about bad carbs born to gypsy immigrant parents on the wrong side of the track. Little food was every on the table they had to fight for what ever scraps they could find. They started picking pockets at the age of 8 quickly moving up to a life of crime covered in the blood of innocents...sad life its what turned good carbs bad.0 -

There is a difference between complex and simple carbohydrates, and the one is definitely healthier for your body than the other.

If you have specific blood issues:
Diabetic or insulin resistant: Google Glycemic Index and stick to low GI carbs.
High Cholesterol: Water soluble fibre will help lower it. Oats and barley are good.0 -
You need to worry about "good carbs" and "bad carbs" if you have problems with blood sugar levels. Other than that there is no difference for your body and for weight loss.0

"one is definitely healthier for your body than the other"?
Really? For everyone in every situation? Period, the end?0 -

Is it just me, or does it seem like certain beliefs are more likely to be shared in a "hit and run" manner without any support or defense whatsoever?
I'm putting this "complex = good, simple = bad, always" on the list next to "cleanses detox the body of...you know, [always unnamed] toxins...and stuff" and "natural sugar = good, added sugar = bad, always".0 -
Pecan pie is a good carb. Cause it's full of carbs and tastes good.
Wait. Did I misunderstand the question?0 -

Bad carbs are the carbs I hate, like cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Good carbs are carbs that are not cauliflower and Brussel sprouts.

When people talk about "good carbs" and low carb dieting they're generally referring to low sugar, non-starchy fruits and vegetables. If you're not following an extremely strict low carb diet "good carbs" usually mean any whole food -- fruits, vegetables, beans and the like.
Diet Doctor has a great low carb for beginners section that sums up the foods you can eat as much as you like of and also an "avoid if you can" section you might find helpful.

But carbs are carbs the same way that calories are calories. Sure, some may be more healthful than others but It's more important to determine the amount of carbs you personally can tolerate and sticking to that number than anything else. Once that limit is established you can work out what foods you enjoy that fit into your carb allowance.0 -

Oh yeah. I could post you a list of the usernames that routinely hit and run. After a while I simply put them on ignore, because I can correct their bad advice only so many times before I start to see stars (and not in a good way).0 -

Milk is complicated.
Or something.0 -
"Good" carbs hold more nutritional value like fiber vitinins and minerals. "Bad"carbs hold low amounts of nutritional value.
Personally I feel it should be called nutrient rich carbs and nutrient poor carbs but I don't think it is controversal enough to catch on.0 -
Ice cream, pizza, good IPA, apples, oranges, grapes, wine, maples syrup, and pancakes are some of my favorite good carbs0
-
There is just food and drink.
Enjoy both as you see fit.
If you want to drop some blubber then you may need to moderate and move the legs a bit more.
Aint any more complex than that, for most.0 -
Exactly! Yes, there IS a difference in carbs! Some are slow digesting, some are fast! You need to eat the appropriate ones to fuel your body as needed.0

Slow and fast does not equate to good and bad.0 -

I know a few women who would disagree.0
