Over my carb macros but under calorie goal...body comp

Just wondering does this happen to many of you and what effect does it have on body comp more than anything?

I'm down to my desired weight loss now and working on weight training and HIIT to slowly improve my body composition. This usually does not happen to me but this week i.e today and yesterday I noticed I have been very near/over my carb goals, I guess this comes with not being prepared as today I've had to grab a granola bar in the vending machine in the library as I had no fruit with me like I usually do - and now i've added 24g to my carbs.

I'm generally very organised with my foods but will admit have falling off track a bit this week with college finals coming up, guess just want some opinions from others on their experience with focusing on macros more.

I'm new to the whole macro thing so I wouldnt be of much help.

I understand the feeling of falling off track with finals coming up! I try to keep a healthy snack packed in my bad just incase I need something quick

Yea guess it was just two days in a row there, doesn't usually happen to me but just back from tescos and got plenty of healthy snackfoods in in case this happens again.

    Bumping this for more opinions.

I'm neither a nutritionist nor an RD and I don't play one on TV -- but I cannot imagine how modestly eating more carbs than your preferred macros -- for two days!! -- could possibly have any real effect on your body composition efforts. Good luck to you on your goals.

Eating over or near your carbs for two days isn't going to do anything to you. HIIT training may require a little more carbs in your diet anyway.

Just make sure you are hitting your other macros. The main danger in consuming too many carbs is failing to consume enough of your other macro nutrients. It isn't really about too many carbohydrates.

If you were on a high carbohydrate diet for example. You may not be getting some of the healthy fats from other food sources. So it's really a matter of ensuring your macros are balanced out.

Thanks for the advice, always try to eat around hitting my protein macro first anyway so usually am quite accountable with this.
Not going to overthink the carb macro too much like everyone has said was only 2 days, have been doing better this week.
