I am 5.8 starting weight 197, loss 10 pounds , 32 years old and and my goal is 170, I set the app for 2 ponds each weeks. I,m not sure if i set the app correctly or if actually 1220 calories daily is correct. Can some one help me here.

If you're male, 1200 is too low. That's what I have always heard. 1200 cals for anyone is like the rock bottom of what you should consume. I'll let other people weigh in who have more expertise, but I can tell you, for example, that my husband started a weight loss plan prescribed by a doctor (he is 6 ft tall, 40, and was 220 lbs trying to get to 190). They told him to eat 1700 cals a day, and to exercise. And he did that and the weight flew off of him. I can't imagine if he were at 1200. He'd be in a coma. I've never seen 1200 cals for a male, no matter what they weigh or want to weigh, to be honest.0

Do the other sites include exercise in there calculations. MFP is designed so that you eat back your exercise calories so there is a good chance with exercise you could hit that amount0

I'd suggest 1220 is too low. However, I don't know much about you so that's just a very vague, general statement.0

Your BMR is 1700 give or take... you then have to add your activity levels to get to your TDEE.
All this to say - 1220 calories is not enought additionally 10 pounds in a couple of weeks seems a bit much (depending what you consider as "a couple of weeks" like).
MFP let's you eat back your workouts - however MFP workouts / calories are a vague assumption and most of times totally off.0 -

Check out wat Scooby has to say:

1700 cals would give a lazy guy a fast and serious weight loss. You only have a few pounds to lose. I think you should stay around 1900cals (even 2000) plus eat your exercise cals. Lose fat, build muscle.
That's my two cents!0
