I have been logging my meals for a month now and have been doing p90x but am not sure how to log it. Do I need to wait until I get a heart rate monitor until I am able to log it? Any suggestions on HRM? Thanks!

If you want an accurate calorie burn I'd just wait until the heart rate monitor comes in. If you're following the nutrition plan and the schedule you'll be fine until then!
You could try just using "Circuit Training" but you're really just getting an estimate.0 -
Yeah, you'll really need a HRM to get close to an accurate calorie count. However, if you are following a meal plan and are trying to run a calorie deficit it is suggested to subtract 600 calories to account for the P90X workout which leads one to believe that on average BB finds people burn roughly 600 calories per workout.. Of course calorie burn is so unique to the individual your mileage may vary with that.0

The burn on the different workouts can vary greatly as well. As a 220 pound guy, I could push nearly 1000 calories with Plyo, but maybe 450 with cardio X. And the strength, while aerobic in nature, isn't going to necessarily register a super accurate burn with the heart rate monitor. Generally they require a steady state cardio workout to be accurate. BUT, I always use one. My rule of thumb is after I subtract my normal RMR, I remove another 50 - 100 calories from the burn and that's the total I log here. Again, for the strength workouts.0

You can log on to a calorie burned calculator for P90X: p90xcalories.com. I think it is pretty accurate.0
