No Trade Backs

Now that I have started my weight loss journey (although this week isn’t going very well), there are some things that I have happily traded/swapped!

For example, I got some ground chuck from a friend of mine. I didn’t like it! I always use lean ground turkey and I don’t think I will ever go back. I didn’t like how the ground chuck was so greasy! In addition, it took too many calories from my lunch!

Ground chuck 4 oz 280 calories
Ground Turkey 4 oz 95% lean 160 calories
Ground Turkey 4 oz 99% lean 120 calories

I usually use the 99% lean so that is 160 calories that were stolen from me that I could use for other things. Like 6.5 Oz of my favorite sweet red wine, or 2.5 of my Miller 64 beers! I could have a great sweet treat for 160 calories.

I was just wondering if there are foods that you have traded/swapped that you wouldn’t trade back if you never had to worry about calories ever again.

Thoughts?

Haha, when people ask why I never eat sweets or fast food, I always tell them I'd rather spend any extra calories I have left on wine.

I use "natural" peanut butter, where the ingredients are only peanuts and salt...the kind you have to stir. Before I changed my eating habits, I thought it tasted bad (I was so used to the heavily processed, sugar added kind). Now I love it and I'll never go back!!

Calorie wise both are about the same though and in both types the bulk of the calories come from fat. I like the "natural" kind also because I genuinely think it tastes better but to claim it's healthier or better for weight loss is dubious at best.

I never said it was healthier...or better for weight loss?

ETA: Also, way to stay on topic. Don't you have anything to actually add to the OP instead of just picking apart mine?

Plain steel-cut oats VS Quaker Instant Flavoured oatmeal. WAY too sugary and artificial-tasting to me now!

This!^ .....sort of. I use an instant steel-cut (Coach's). I just love the texture, none of that baby food texture (instant) for me!

Wheat bread ...........not white. I'm always on the look out for more fiber.

Greek yogurt ..............well worth the price (to me).

I have no foods that are off limits or permanently traded for something else....except diet soda. I haven't drank regular in maybe 10 years or more.
