I think once you add meat, it stops being a grilled cheese and more of a sandwich... I might be alone on this.

Don't get me wrong I love meat, but once you add bacon and other meats they become the star in that situation.

I disagree. As long as you have a positive cheese ratio, it still counts.

Tuna melts could still have a positive cheese ratio but they aren't grilled cheese. Grilled ham and cheese sandwiches aren't solely referred to as grilled cheese. So I have to agree with the poster that said once it you start adding stuff, it is no longer is a grilled cheese.

    Adding fish changes the game.

That is not a grilled cheese sandwich.

    Yes it is.
But to do away with this stupid fight I propose that everyone starts calling them toasted sandwiches like they do here. You can put whatever the hell you want in it as long as it has cheese and is toasted in some fashion. Toasted sandwich, or toastie.

I was under the impression that grilled cheese is just bread and cheese.... and butter. Add anything else and it's just a grilled sandwich.

    Cut into triangles

this is one i think we should all agree on to get the proper mouth to cheese: bread ratio requires it to be cut into a equilateral triangle.

    This works for me:
    tumblr_mxfhkfd16f1r8jkpuo1_500.jpg

I prefer the basic cheddar cheese and white bread with a bit of butter/margarine spread on the outside of each slice.
