I'm 5'0 and I've lost about 50 so far, still a work in progress. Started at 191, now at 140. Was at 130 but gain some back. Add me if you'd like

Wow! These posts are so incredibly inspiring.

I'm 5'2 (on a good day) and weigh about 135 right now, it's the highest I've ever been. I'm 20 and in college so I have trouble finding the right foods to eat (and to not stress eat!), and just joined MFP to help me keep track and get motivated. I'd love to lose 20 pounds, but that's a very far off goal right now!

    You're all so inspiring!!

I'm 5'1" and currently just under 200 lbs. I started at 220 and actually got down to 186 until I regretfully took a "little break" and now I'm struggling for motivation and energy to get off my butt and not snack when I'm hungry in the evenings. :(

I feel your pain. Just about 2 years ago I was 120 pounds and jumped up to almost 179 (and no, I don't have any kids... pathetic, I know) :/ right now I'm 171, which is still wayyy over what I need to be considering I'm 5' 3", but I'm progressing. It's so difficult to resist the temptations that I'm constantly surrounded by!

Keep your chin up! I'm sure you need the support just as badly as I do, so feel free to add me :]

I am 4'11 and 37 y/o. I started at 160 lbs. possibly a little more. I am now 121.6 lbs as of my last weigh in. I started Jan 30 2013. I cant believe Im posting these before pics but here goes lol.

I am due to be in a wedding this coming March....

Me in my now TOO BIG dress that needs to be altered! This was taken about 2 wks ago- I now wear a size 6/8 jeans. The dress will need to be altered down to a bridal size 10 (im guessing).

    Me buying size 6 jeans!

Those jeans are WAY to big!!! You probably are smaller than that :) Great job!

Thank you. I think those may have actually been the 8s I was trying on as well. I bought the 6s in that brand and put those 8s back :)

Hi All, I've just been reading this thread & wonder how many calories & net calories you've all been sticking too?

I lost the bulk of my weight using the TDEE-20% method. Using that method (and exercising about 3-4x a week for 30 min a day) I was eating up to 1400-1500 cal per day.

Now that I have less than 10 lbs left to lose I switched back to the MFP method and am eating back my exercise calories, my base target is 1300 calories and then I eat back the majority of what I ear through exercise. Usually that ends up being an additional 250-300 calories. Sometimes it is more, like yesterday I earned about 430 calories thru exercise but I always make sure that my net is over 1200 at the end of the day.

    Hope that helps!

It took around 6 months to lose 26 pounds. I'm actually 4'11 , **so close**. In the beginning it was alright, then half way through it was hell mode especially when i didn't see any progress. I had to constantly make sure i was eating right and get my workouts in there, and if i ever missed it i'd feel horrible. But after i learned to stop obsessing with it. There are definitely times when you just want to give up and you feel very frustrated, but it really takes time and patience to actually see how far you've come.

I am 5"1 and started at around 183. My whole life I have struggled with losing weight. I have never been over 150 lbs. 2012 was a rough year and I gained 30 lbs. I have maintained that weight throughout 2013. I really want to lose around 60 lbs and look forward to 2014! Would some support to go through this journey with!!

hi - I'm 5'0" -44 (45 next week!) around 141- in it to win it - looking to lose about 20# - feel free to add me - always looking for more like minded, healthy oriented friends... when you are short seems every ounce shows.... go team shorties! :-)
  • 4'11" here and will be turning 41 on January 1st. Feel free to add me up and let's go through this journey together.

Started September 2012 and so far have lost 40 lbs and 2013 brought me a lot of "firsts"

First 5K - Color Run (January)
First Mud Run - Dirty Girl (February)
First 10K - Salmon Run (June)
    First Half-Marathon - Nike Women's Marathon (October)
First Spartan Race - Spartan Sprint (December)

With the help of MFP and a few more inspiring motivators, I was able to accomplish feats that I never thought I would be able to do my entire life. It is challenging but just stick to it and just be AMAZING! We got this! :)

5'0" SW:136 well, when I really started again... Highest was 155 after delivery of my 4th child. Think I might be pushing 5'. Probably only 4'11".. My goal weight is ~115. I don't know. I really have more of a goal image. I'm currently doing JM30DS, and half way through, only now starting to see results. They are very small, but I'm getting there. Currently, I'm 135... So not a lot lost.... 2014 will be the year I finally do it, and I'm "well on my way".

    I'm 5'0 and 32. Down 38 pounds in just over a year!

    SW 188 (Nov. 2012)
    CW 150 (Dec. 2013)
GW 140, I think. Probably lower, but for now, I'm looking at this at 10 pound losses at a time.

I'm wearing the smallest clothes I have in 20 years!!! I do a lot of Jillian Michaels workouts, walking, biking. I love eating, so I earn more cals though my workouts. haha! Maybe not the best approach, but I think I'm doing pretty good.

I am 5'3" and my starting weight was 215lbs, currently I am 123lbs. My UGW was 125lbs, so I have surpassed that. My new goal is to tone and build strength plus maybe another 5-8 lbs, we will see. I lost 65lbs initially, through deficit and treadmill. Then I lost all motivation and took a year off, and in that time gained back 10lbs. Jan 2013, I woke up and realized I need to get my butt in gear now before I am 215lbs again. I started slow with calorie counting, then introduced walking in Feb (in snow), March I started attending a Boot Camp 2 times a week, June I started a Learn2Run program(ran until the end of August, and was forced to stop due to injury), and November I began lifting. Right now, I am focusing on strength 3 times a week, and walking on my days off.

I don't know how to add photos but I think my profile is public and there is a before picture and current picture on there. It can be hard to keep going but you'll get there. We're all doing this together. Good luck on your fitness goals :)

Bought that same dress (in july? august?) from Davids for a wedding in June. The same blue color. size 16. Mine already needs to be altered to a 14 or 12! Awesome job! You look fantastic.

I'm 5'1.5''ish and I've lost 23 lbs since July. Sizes aren't moving too quickly but I'm seeing/feeling a difference. Lost around 36 total from a previous loss and a pregnancy in between. Currently 143 down from an all time high of 180.

Ive lost 29lb - still a ways to go - but done better than ever before in terms of where I have lost it ( Ive lost more before but always kept my back fat or only lost by eating diet food or seperate meals in the past)

By all means add me as a friend!

I should add that I started out at 210 lbs - Im currently 167lbs and want to get to around 140 -

I started using MFP in Oct, 2011 at the heaviest I'd ever been. At barely 5 ft talI I am now 58 years old and in the best shape I've ever been in. You can do this, one day at a time.
