Does it matter what you eat?

Currently, I#m having around 2000 calories a day and I'm not cutting any foods out. I will have some cookies, or some quavers etc If I want them and just make sure I don't go over 200 calories.
I'm just wondering, would there be a change in weight loss if i ate say a banana instead of a bag of quavers? or is there just a benefit in terms of overall health/nutrition?
I am eating a lot more healthy now than I was 3 months ago, that's why I allow myself to have quavers etc in moderation.
many thanks:)

it hasn't mattered for many of us My Ben & Jerry's almost daily can attest to this :bigsmile:0

As long as you are eating at a deficit and hitting your macros/getting proper nutrition, it makes not one bit of difference.0

As others have said, as long as you hit your nutrients and get a calorie deficit, it usually doesn't matter. The only time it really does is if you have some kind of medical condition, for instance sugar with diabetes, but of course that doesn't really have to do with losing weight. In fact, for many people, it's better to allow themselves treats. It can stop them from gorging on them later and ruining their progress.0

It doesn't make a difference to the number on the scale, but it matters to your heart and your body fat percentage and body composition.0

no it doesn't... body composition is made with heavy lifting and trust me, I can burn off that Ben & Jerry's. :bigsmile:0 -
Nope.
To me, it only matters in how full I am after I eat. I feel a lot more stuffed eating 400 calories of chicken caesar salad than I do eating 400 calories of m&ms. I've done both though, and lost weight just fine. :happy:0 -
Oh right, yeah that's what I thought
thanks for all the responses!0 -
Nope, you can lose weight eating big macs and twinkies or veggies and fruit. Although you get a lot more food out of it if you eat healthy, which can be worth it.0
