I just started using my fitness pal. I love it because it really holds me accountable to what I eat. So the past week I've done very well, meeting the exact calorie recommendation and some moderate working out, along with my macronutrients evened out. And I get on the scale, MINUS 15 POUNDS. I know some could be water, but sure as heck not nearly 2 gallons of water. I'm really happy with myself but I feel like I'm doing something wrong because it's so much weight at once.. Any insight?!?!

    Jgrady,

Enjoy that big weight loss because, unless you are eating a ridiculously low amount of calories, most of that is water loss. It will slow down.

However, if you REALLY want to know if you're doing something wrong, you need to open your dairy.
  • It's not uncommon to see a drastic change in the numbers on the scale when you give your eating plans a makeover. It's most likely your body had gotten rid of a lot of the excess water it was holding. Eventually it will slow down to about 1 to 2lbs of fat loss a week.

Congratulations on making the first step, though!
