I have changed so much on the outside as well as the inside that I honestly don't even recognize myself. Not sure what to make of that yet.

    Oh, wow...

I'm 15kg lighter, I am SO much stronger and fitter, I now have the confidence to flaunt my legs instead of hiding them, I can now cook entire meals from scratch, I've realised that I LOVE chickpeas, tuna, and eggplant (who knew?), I am honestly happy to get out of bed at 6am ... so many things!

    So much it's crazy!

I'm a much stronger person both emotionally and physically (thank you lifting lol). Actually just more confident in general, finally liking who I am and what I see in the mirror sort of thing. I haven't lost any weight but I'm smaller which I really like

It's a huge change from last year and I'm proud of it!

    1. Am down 27 lbs. this year. (Down 51 lbs. in 462 days.)
    2. Went down a fourth pant size and got too small for my belt. Fortunately, a formerly too-small belt was waiting for me.
    3. Fit back into my old clothes from a dozen years ago.
    4. Reached my goal weight and am now in Maintenance! Body fat percentage (27.6%) is in the middle of "ideal" range for a woman my age.
    5. Accomplished 9/11 Memorial Fitness Challenge, climbing 110 flights of stairs. Was tied for sixth oldest participant among 116 online registrants.
    6. Am slowly returning to running and am getting used to "barefoot" shoes.
    7. My bloodwork RAWKS.
    8. I believe I've found eating and exercise habits that are sustainable, so that I can send my yo-yo history packing.
    9. I continue to hone my coping techniques and stress management. Constant learning process there.
    10. I'm more sensitive to cold and my butt's more sensitive to hard seats, but the tradeoff is acceptable. :-)

    Exactly how I feel.

25 pounds down since the end of January 2013 (when I started keeping track). My intensity and drive wavered throughout the year. Sometimes I was on, other times not.

My goal is another 20-25 down (bringing me to 150 +/-) by June when I'll be starting my firefighter training. (The way I figure it, those 50ish pounds I will no longer be carrying will be just about made up for by the 70ish pounds of gear!!)

Same here!! Both physically with weighloss, along with mentally and emotionally in many other aspects of my life. Made a lot of big changes since the beginning of 2013 and 2014 will only have more changes to come! :drinker:

I've done a 180 Degree mental, emotional and psychological change relative to MY perception of Health and Food. This is the greatest thing that has happened to Me in 20 yrs.; this change has SAVED My Life and Improved the Quality of My Life for Life. I am Happier and Healthier than I have been in 20 yrs, and after all isn't THIS what LIFE is all about.

A person can be 'slim' and UNHEALTHY, UNHAPPY and Living a LOW Quality of Life. There are a LOT of Depressed, Mean Spirited - 'Slim' people, That is NOT Healthy.

    Last October 2012:

220 Lbs @ 30%ish BF, 38" waist. High blood sugar (pre-diabetic), very high LDL, very low HDL, triglycerides through the roof, sedentary (could barely walk the dog around the block), 2-3 PAD smoker. RHR 102.

    October 2013 through current:

180 Lbs @ 19% BF, 34" waist. normal blood glucose levels, normal LDL (though on the high end of normal still but improving), good HDL levels, normal triglycerides (though on the high end of normal), far from sedentary...I lift 3x weekly and ride my bike 50 - 100 miles per week depending on the season...do a lot of swimming in the summer as well as hiking and just generally active. I haven't had a single puff off a cigarette since Sept 25, 2012. RHR 69.

My weight loss is awesome, but my improving health and fitness are the most awesome.

    Turkey drop? :drinker:

I've dropped about 45 pounds and a uterus... and after the uterus incident, I'm happily secure in the knowledge that I never actually had the sports hernia that derailed my last fitness attempt a few years before. I'm breathing easier and eating better. I can run six miles without stopping, climb 100 flights of stairs in the course of a day, and deadlift my own weight - none of which was even a distant stretch goal a year ago. I see nothing strange about climbing stairs for fun. I still can't wear my old clothes :frown: but now it's because they're all too big.

Last weekend, my son told me I'm a completely different person now - and I agree with him in a lot of ways. I actually like it when people look at me. I feel more confident and capable, and less stressed overall. Compared with this time last year, I feel amazing.
