  • Needles and centipedes/silverfish..... too many FREAKING legs to be normal. *shudder* :noway:

Centipedes are disgusting. I saw one on my wall and nearly put a hole in it with a shoe. Scared the bejesus out of me.

Not so much the basement, but the basement *stairs.* One must bound up them so the zombies do not grab one's feet as one climbs. Basement stairs that are open between the risers? Forget it. Won't be going down them because going up will cause paralysis and/or death.

I find the ocean at night scary, like the poster above me said, I think it had to do with Jaws, at an early age for me.

Irrational fear of throwing up... emetophobia. Not being able to leave somewhere; no matter how big or small the place is. Sleeping with my face towards the couch. Anything biting my fingers.

Bees and other stinging flying things. I ran into a bee's nest when I was young and got stung by a lot of them and since then I can not be near them.

Spiders. This isn't just a small fear either. This is a totally irrational fear that grips me to this day! Spiders scare the living daylights out of me.

Bodies of water at night...lake, ocean, river...whatever...freak me out. Crickets too. Yes...I said crickets.

I have a fear of icicles...the huge ones that hang off the eaves of buildings and can fall and kill you as you walk beneath them. Fortunately now that I live in florida, they really aren't an issue.

On the other hand here we have snakes...and sharks.

I also have a fear of being buried alive, under rubble, as from an earthquake or other disaster.

I didn't have any of these fears as a child...I was pretty fearless then. iIgnorance is bliss.

Not necessarily a fear, but my husband makes fun of me because if the closet door is even slightly open it will drive me nuts and I can't go to sleep. He always asks "what I expect to jump out?"

I had a Jumunji dream as a child that the flowers came to life and spit seeds out at me in a vicious manner. Traumatized.

Dark creepy old basements, I think this steams from my brother being a jerk and locking me in the basement when I was a kid. Talk about full blown panic attacks.

Being home alone, when I'm home alone all doors, windows ect are locked. I will recheck that they are locked every 15 or so minutes, no overly loud music or tv shows going. I also have a knife and cell near me at all times.... yup...

Mice, bats, and snakes. Can't even watch a video of a mouse on tv without curling up into the fetal position and shrieking like a school girl.

ETA: can't sleep with my bedroom door open, either. lol

I used to hold my breath when driving by cemeteries. They still freak me out.

Dirty bathrooms with holes between the stalls.

Because I'm allergic to spider bites, I've been paranoid about them, and eventually feared them :|

I'm scared of the dark, spiders, and dying. I am constantly thinking I am going to die and I am so foolishly afraid of death.
  • I've been scared of magicians ever since my 6th birthday party, when a magician killed my father.

As much as I love dogs, aggressive dogs scare me. Even from behind a fence.

For being a Leo I am one big scaredy cat!

I am afraid of heights, especially bridges or stairs that have no backs or that you can see through.

I cant stand close to railings or edges of anything. Its so bad my legs feel like lead weights if I am forced to go someplace high.

Also, I am afraid of the dark, an open closet at night freaks me out, and I really get freaked out by clowns, I hate clowns!

    Long bridges. Not a fan.

Ditto...especially ones that are high up and/or span water...the Bay Bridge in San Francisco is the worst for me around here...

Cant sleep with the bedroom door open, what i imagine is under the bed so my limbs cant hang off and i have to be near the wall when i sleep, being alone in a house, scubadiving, particularly drowning bcuz when I was a kid I almost drowned on multiple occasions when my parents were "watching me".....and if a bee touches me ill shriek like a little girl

well into my 30's, i used to occasionally have nightmares that i'd overslept and was late for an important final exam (or missed it). it usually took a couple of seconds after waking for the anxiety to dissipate as i reminded myself that i'd been out of college/grad. school for a number of years by that point.

I aboslutely cannot go to sleep if any part of my body is hanging off the bed. I swear that someone or something is going to pull me off the bed and eat my face off! This is also the reason why I have to kind of step away from the bed when I get up or jump into bed from a little ways away.....just in case. :frown:
  • Doctors, hospitals, ambulances, and especially, needles.
