  • Well, I'm glad it has gotten easier for you!! I am not having a problem with junk food, it's portion control and eating at night that I am really struggling with, it's like I need to lock my fridge after 7! You're doing great, hope we both keep up the good work!

The first few days were actually easy for me, I was excited about getting myself in shape and had a lot of motivation, but a month ino my diet, I found that my drive to eat healthy taperd off a bit, and was struggling not to grab a bag of chips and some chocolate. I knew I couldn't do that, so I just mustered up some will power and kept at it. But secondly, I do enjoy those foods every once in a while, I just know my limits and do things in moderation. And that has actually worked best for me, and lost 25 lbs. I know if I deny myself those foods completely, I will end up binge eating and gain weight again.
As far as ridding a double chin, it does go away with time, I found that I lost a lot in my face first. Good luck!

I have also noticed if I can get thru a few days of not eating sweets & junk food, then I don't crave them as bad either. It's just the struggle of being strong and holding out those few days. . .and also my husband keeps junk food for himself and where it's just a "habit" for me of eating stuff like that, I have to watch even when I'm not really craving it not to just go to the cabinet and reach for something. . .like today. . .ugh!!! (But if I don't eat anything else today besides what I already have planned for then I'll still be under my calorie goal. . .whew!) It's been a rough first day back on the wagon!

As for the double-chin, I sure don't see one by looking at your picture, but I know for me it just gradually goes away the more lbs. I lose.
  • after the first three times i tried dieting i would always give in during the first 3 days, but as soon as i could get past them i wouldn't binge, and i haven't binged since(:

I think its cause your body just doesn't understand and wants to go back to normal (eating badly) but it seems after you pass those couple days it understands..

I sure hope so! I have only really been trying now for a few days and I am going mad not indulging in junk. Especially since I have so much Halloween candies from going out with my son :P
My main problem IS portion control and late night eating too but fast food and munchies are an issue also. I haven't been very successful with cutting them out but I know I have made a good effort by at least not binging on that Halloween candy...instead I have only been having maybe a few a day...which I could do without...but it's better than what I WANT to do lol
As for the double chin, I have no idea really but I do know that whenever my mom lost a significant amount of weight that it was typical her face, then arms, then legs, then butt, then stomach that went lol Everyone of course is different but I know I have seen a lot of people on The Biggest Loser who seem to lose that way too. So good luck! :)

The first "X" number of days IS especially hard. I say "X" because for some of us it takes much longer than a few days. Whenever you make a major change to the way you live your life, something is going to say "What are you doing!!"

On the double chin front, I fear my is leaving, but it is leaving a turkey wattle in its place!!! Wrinkly loose skin. Of course I am nearing 60 years old, and should have lost all this weight when I was younger, but there you have it. I'd rather have a turkey wattle than the world's biggest butt!
  • I'm on the same page as Cassylex. I recently got married this past Feb and my husband eats so much! So when I fill his plate I put a little less on mine when in reality thats not even close to the right portion size for me! I have been dieting for like a week and a half now and I still get headaches every now and then but it helps to eat snacks in between meals just light snacks. I have been doing the P90X as well and that is easier than dieting for SURE!
