    That's an awfully small pen. Is it yours?

    is it in his pocket? (protector)
    is he happy to see me?

    That is a high quality fountain pen. It may not be as stylish or ergonomic as some models, but the plus side is that it always works. I can write for hours with that pen and not get tired.

    I always worry about the overshoot with fountain pens.

    That's what a good proofreader is there for, they can help with the extra ink.

    That right there is a quality combination lock. Had one that lasted me from sixth grade all the way through high school. I commend your choice of lock as the best that will exist in this thread.
