Love me some smoothies!!! My most common and favorite one includes some or all of the following ingredients:
- Protein powder (I use Optimum Nutrition protein powder)
- 1/2 an avocado (just started adding this to my smoothies, can't believe how creamy the avocado makes it... it's like I'm drinking a milkshake!)
- frozen berries and/or other frozen fruit (mangoes, peaches, etc.)
- baby spinach
- banana0 -
I love green smoothies, I have one pretty consistently every day either between breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner to tide me over and get some extra nutrition into my day.
What and how much I use depends on whether I'm making just one for myself, or a bigger batch for my boyfriend and I, but these are some of the things I use most often:
Coconut water as the liquid (fresh from a young coconut is obviously best, but that can get expensive, so we tend to just pick up a few boxes of the Whole Foods brand)
Banana
Cucumber
Baby spinach (2-3 cups)
Apples
Frozen mango/pineapple/mixed berries
Trader Joe's has really good prices on decent sized bags of frozen fruit, I've found. We go there once a week to stock up even though my boyfriend works for Whole Foods, it's still a better deal! I like my smoothies really cold, so using frozen fruit instead of ice is great.0 -

It's funny, the thought of drinking raw egg makes me gag, but I'll happily lick the spoons after mixing cake batter!0 -
i always freeze my fruit...especially bananas......i use almond milk..... then what ever else you want to throw in!0

I keep bananas in the freezer for my go-to recipe.
Almond milk
Flax meal
Spinach
I'll add more frozen fruit or yogurt if I've got it. Never use any protein powder though. I'll have an egg white omelette if i feel I need the protein.0 -

I make mine like that:
1 banana
1 cup frozen fruits
Half cup water (or juice whatever you prefer)
Put this into the blender and mix it! YUM It's very healthy.
Also make
1 banana
1 cup of almond milk
Little cinnamon/Or vanilla
Mix it in to the blender! It's delicious, not very high on calories and also very fullfilling.0 -
Thanks! You all have gave me so many great ideas! I am sure to find one I love !0
