Bodymedia Fit and sleep logging

I am not sure where this should really go, so I'll try it here. I purchased a Bodymedia Fit approximately 2 1/2 weeks ago. I like having a good idea of how many calories I am burning in a day so I can keep my intake in check.

The biggest shock to me is how little sleep I am actually getting according to it. Over the past 2 1/2 weeks, I have averaged just over 4 hours of sleep every night. I am wondering if when it logs "lying down", it's actually reading my REM sleep instead of waking time. I am an extremely vivid dreamer and always have been, so I am thinking that maybe when I am in REM sleep, I am very close to waking up and that's what it's reading.

Does anyone have any experience with BMF and it's sleep readings?

I know mine will read the sleep only when I'm not moving around, it is usually pretty accurate, when I check back the time I was awake and compare with the body media reading. So if you are moving around a lot it does make sense that you would only get 4 hours. I usually get between 6-7 hours per night.

There a body media group here on MPF you should join.

Thanks! That does make sense. I'll go check out the Bodymedia group.
