I'm on the third book "A Storm of Swords" in the Song Of Fire and Ice series by George R, R. Martin. (That's the Game Of Thrones series for you newbs), hahaha. Each book is 600+ pages I've read the first two already during this festive season. If you like the Game of Thrones TV Series I highly recommend reading the books, this is mind-blowing stuff, the sheer scope of the novels is unbelievable, it's as if Martin is writing about things, that actually happened because of the amount of detail and history he packs into the world he has created. Lord of the Rings can't hold a candle to this stuff.

If you have not read City of Joy by Dominic Lapierre, you are missing out.
It has to be a top ten of all time for me, a real heart tugger.
