My motivation.

Everyone talks about what motivates you to accomplish a task, and usually that involves listing the great things you will get out of it...

There is a flip side to this coin and it isn't pretty... yet it can me more motivational than the former. Take for example you, at your lowest common denominator. Wherever you were when you started this journey... or even where you are right now. Imagine if the fog never lifted, you never took one more step towards your goals... How would things end up for you?

The following is my list of what will happen if I fail.

-By the time I am 40 I WILL have type 2 diabetes, severe depression and will most likely be running through a regiment of pills every day just to survive.

-By the time I am 45 my daughter will be in highschool, I will most likely be too sick to coach her in any physical sports, and she will start on her path to obesity.

-By the time I am 50 high blood pressure and lack of exercise will probably keep me in a chair most of the day, my daughter will either be in college or starting a career/family. She probably wont have much time to come see me, and I will be too sick to go see her.

-At age 55 I will be either riddled with cancer, or on the brink of a heart attack... either way not long for this world. If grand children are in the cards I wont have much time to spend with them.

-At age 60 I will most likely be dead, my wife will probably be close behind due to sharing in my terrible life decisions. My grand children will either never know me or wont remember me.

This is why I cannot fail.

I am 51 and have lupus and a herniated disc in my neck ( not due to my weight for the most part) but the weight does not help the issue either.

I do feel sick most of the time and am not able to get out to see my son, grand daughters and friends. I am on many medications and my stamina is very poor.

My cholesterol and blood pressure are borderline and am on meds for blood pressure.

You are so right in what will probably be if you do not make changes. I did lose 20 pounds the last 6 months but I am starting over new Today. I lost the 20 and it is easier at 192 than it was at 209 but now I have been stalling at this number for way too long. Time to start new and get another 20 off. It will help every issue I have and help keep me from getting new issues and new meds.

Thank you for sharing this because it is not about looking good though the self image and depression does affect your life and health more than most people can imagin.

LETS DO THIS - WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING BUT :)
