I prelog and LOVE it, it's fun for me
who else does this and who logs as they go, and if you log as you go, how do you not go over?

It kind of depends for me. I prelogged my lunch but will be doing my dinner as I go. When I work, I do not pre-log. When I do not work, I pre-log. Kind of backwards. =p0

I prelog the night before for a weekday. Weekends tend to be a bit more log as I go.0

I pre-log in the morning or the night before, and adjust anything as needed. I stick to what I've planned about 75% of the time, only needing to adjust weights as I go, and sometimes I change things up because I have a craving for something specific.0

I pre-log, but not far in advance - I just make sure that I know the calories in what I'm eating and get it logged before I eat it.
So, yeah, I sit at the table logging my food.0 -
I do a bit of both, I sit at the table eating my breakfast, adding that, i will usually know what I'm having for lunch and dinner anyway, so it's handy to add it then, if I change my mind or have a snack/trip to costa during the day I can always change or add more0
-
I pre-log then at the end of the day I make any necessary adjustments (adding or subtracting, if applicable). I like to pre-log because it gives me a general idea of what I should have at what time which keeps me from being too spontaneous lol0

This is what I do too.0 -
I log as I go, but I typically eat the same stuff, so I know what will work. Also, I don't stress daily count too much, I like to focus more on weekly as that works better for me. Some days I am hungrier, or want something that will put me over which is no big deal because I either have calories "in the bank" from a day or two earlier, or can make it up the next day.0

I do both...if I know for sure what I am having ahead of time I might log.. if not then I log as I go...0
-
I often pre-log my basic meals as I always know what I'm cooking each week, but I like to snack so often I leave some calories spare for the odd mocha or suchlike.0

I pre-log in the morning all meals I bring to work with me, but anything that I eat at home or in the evening I log as I go. I like to just have whatever I am feeling at the moment for dinner so I don't waste the effort of logging if I might change my mind.0

During the week, I'll log my lunch as I pack it in the morning. Once in a while I'll prelog dinner if I know it's going to be kinda high so that I know what I've got to work with for breakfast, lunch and snacks. But the rest of the time I log as I go.0

I prelog most of my day. Dinner is usually the only thing I add after we eat. I always add lots of snacks but don't normally consume them all so I take them off at the end of the day.0
-
Both, but mostly as I go.0

I pre-log as much as I can. If I'm craving something (like that peppermint ice cream I made a couple of days ago...mmmm....), I add it and then adjust my meals or other snacks around it.0

I typically log each thing as I eat it. If I am getting close to goal, I will usually enter before I eat to make sure I don't go over. I don't like pre-logging because I like to have the flexibility to eat whatever I happen to be in the mood for.0

I do both. If I know what I'm eating I prelog but sometimes plans change and it gets switched up.0

I prelog 95% of the time. Sometimes I go back and change things if I fancy a different snack or don't feel like working out,etc.0

Mostly pre-log since I eat basically the same things everyday (I cook in batches on Sunday) and I buy the same snack items each week. It works for me. I log as I go on weekends and make adjustments for unexpected cravings and such during the week.
Edited to add I only pre-log food - never workouts!0 -
As I go, almost always. Especially for water.0

I generally do this. I don't see it as pre-logging though because most of my food gets logged either right before or right after I eat it.
Sometimes on work days when I log my breakfast I will log my lunch as I've already packed it, and sometimes if I know what I am eating for dinner I log that to see what I have left for the day, but I generally tend to be someone who likes to eat what I like feel at the moment, rather than planning out my day way in advance.
I stay within my calorie and macro goals with a combination of having a good idea of the calories in the portions of food I plan on eating, and sometimes changing up my choices. So I may cook a steak and potato for dinner, but then, since I am logging at the table, decide to only eat 1/2 the potato rather than the whole thing because I am close to my carb goal.
Also, since I have been logging for over a year, I have a good feel for typical calorie counts in foods I like to eat, so I sometimes mentally "pre-log" a meal while I am cooking it. Like if I am making pancakes with two slices of bacon and an egg, I know that my pancake recipe is 140 calories per pancake (and I eat two), 1/8 cup of pure maple syrup is about 105 calories, the bacon I eat is 90 calories for two pan-fried slices, and a large egg fried in bacon grease is 90 calories, so I can feel pretty confident that my breakfast will be about 565 calories. Then I enter it after I eat.0 -
I do both. Most weekdays I pre-log because I usually bring breakfast & lunch to work, so I already know what I'll be having. Weekends it's definitely log as I go!0
-
Since most of my meats I freeze I pre log my dinners almost always, breakfast and lunch not so much....I usually change it up if I think I have an item and dont or decide to do another side dish later on in the day. But my meats is usually 98% pre logged for dinner0

I prelog most days-- and made revisions as needed.
Some times I don't prelog, but those days are more difficult for me.0 -
When I was actively losing I pre-logged and made adjustments as needed. Ultimately, these adjustments became smaller and smaller as time went on. It really helped me to have a plan for the day and I knew pretty much where I was at all times in relation to my goal.0

I do both. During the day, I log as I go. Dinner time, I prelog, that way I can measure out correctly, which is something new I am doing and that way I can get a better idea of what the best choices would be to eat. For example, last nights dinner was a turkey dinner and all the fixings. After prelogging, I could see what my best choices would be to eat and the worst. It helped allot and I enjoyed my meal, for the first time in a while. It felt like a mini reward to myself! Best choices!!!0

When I log, I prelog and adjust as I go about my day... I seem to do much better when I actually do it.0
