my dad told a story of a man in his platoon who went mad. he knew they were coming to take out the squad so he tied himself to a tree with a bunch of guns. when they came he took out a lot.........enough for the rest of the squad to be able to handle what was left. Of course this man died, being exposed to all the shots. The way dad told it, he carried this man back to the call point so his body could be shipped home. No Italian that saved all these lives would be left to rot in the woods of a foreign soil.

Now this may not have happened........or it did but in a different way.......it just told a young girl of the bravery of the men and women who had served.

Thank you all, once again, for your bravery and sacrifice. I am humbled here today to know I have the freedom to work and play and love as I please..........and this is all because of YOU.
