It's also well over 1,200 calories unless it's a jacket potato the size of your thumb.

umm my potatoe cals are 150 from asda!!

My jackets from Asda are at least three times that!

OP, you do realize that there are people all over the world using MFP, primarily Americans. Not everyone knows what "Tea" means in the UK. No need to flip out.

    Hi

I understand that but once something is cleared up in the previous comments , it makes the conversation/post go round in circles. Do understand my frustration.

    Kind Regards

That's 144 calories per 100g, but it says a serving is 200g, so it's closer to 300 cals per potato. I make this mistake all the time when looking at packages, you've really gotta make sure to check whether it says per serving or per 100g. Even if it says per serving, you should try to weigh it anyway, just to check. Sorry :P

Well it seems to have been working for you so far, anyway. As others have said, always weigh and measure everything whenever you can to get the most accurate calorie count. And you should really eat back your exercise calories if you're on 1200 a day. You can either use the MFP database to estimate how many cals you burnt, the machine (if you're at the gym), or something more accurate like a heart rate monitor. If you're using the exercise machine or the MFP database a lot of people recommend to eat 70% - 80% of the calories since these sources can be known to over estimate.

    want to be atleast 120-130lbs
How long will it take me?
    I have lost 11lbs in 6weeks.

    eating 1200 cals a day
exercise 4 times a week losing 200-300 cals each session.

Every friday i eat 1 take out.

You can hope for 1 lb a week after you lose that water weight.. which sounds like you did.. But 1200 calories and exercising is pretty extreme.. most people quit before they reach their goal doing that.

    But I eat alot??
breakfast- 1 toast 2 poached eggs and some milk
lunch- jacket potatoe w cheese n beans
    tea- 400 cals
    snack- fruit/crisp (83 cal crisp)

    that is my ideal day???
Seriously, let's get real here. It the above is all your eat, I guarantee you that is below 1200 calories.

How are you coming up with 400 calories for tea? Are you putting the whole carton of creamer in?

What about dinner? Are you skipping meals?

I don't see any vegetables in there and only one fruit.

Nobody can say how long it will take you to lose weight. However, I encourage you to eat more substantive meals and to eat a portion of your exercise calories back. That way your body will be better fueled for your workouts.

Well, that's a change of opinion! Just now everyone was saying it's way OVER 1200 calories.

Got it. I didn't realize your diary was open. It looks like the last few days you have eaten a bit more, but the previous days appear to have very low calories. Maybe you are missing logging meals? Or, have you sometimes eaten that much below calories?

When it comes to losing weight, you just have to be patient and log all your food and exercise calories. As I said before, I recommend eating back of a portion of your exercise calories too. Good luck on your weight loss goals.

I could be wrong, but that description sure sound like it was well under 1,200 calories. Her diary shows this picture on some days, but not on other days.

It sounds like you're doing great! Just don't burn yourself out worrying too much. When my sister and I started MFP a year ago we both got easily overwhelmed as we learned about portion sizes and picking the right foods to keep us full longer. It's a learning experience and you'll have your ups and downs. Both of us also noticed that your body needs a break if you're working out. We'd go a few weeks without losing anything while watching what we ate and working out. When we finally took a couple days off from working out is when we'd notice our weight drop. But again, I think it sounds like you're doing a great job! And also, I had no idea what "tea" meant either! So I learned something new!
