Blisters while walking

I walk 40-60 minutes on my treadmill every day. I recently started getting a blister on my middle toe while walking. Any advice to help keep this from getting worse and preventing this from happening again. My shoes are a proper fit with no sliding.

This happens to me every Spring when I start hiking again. I just put a bandage on it with a little antibiotic ointment (prevents the bandage from sticking and infection) and keep going.

It will occasionally happen after I've been hiking regularly. I don't know why, but I keep both bandages and ointment in my backpack at all times.

Anytime that I'm going to walk for an extended period of time, I put 2 pairs of socks on. I used to have this problem and the balls of my feet getting blister-ish. Since I started double socking, I've not had a problem.
