Worried about how I'll look after I lose the weight?

I'm going from 225 to 150 so we're talking 75 pounds. The areas I'm most worried about is thighs, arms, and to be completely honest the genital region.
Will I have a lot of excess skin around the thighs and upper arms? And this might be TMI but I don't really know where else to ask this, but I have like a pouch of a mons pubis and I was wondering if this would go down to normal or if it will stay the same size? I'm down to 211 now and I haven't noticed any real difference. Will I lose it but the skin won't tighten so it'll sag? Will it just be disproportionate to the rest of my body?

The only answer is you just don't know. Many people find their skin recovers given enough time and assuming they drop to a low enough body fat percentage. For men, that may mean cutting into the single digits, but not everyone needs to do this. For other people, their skin never recovers. You're still better off without the excess body fat either way though, so it shouldn't be something that discourages you from losing weight. Deal with it when it happens, if it ever happens.0

Hi!
I started at about 203 pounds (a year ago), and am now 127, so that's 76 pounds lost. There's no sagging, no loose skin, and I'm older than you so my skin is less resilient.
Relax! You'll look great. :flowerforyou:0 -
Your still young so I would think that if you lose the weight nice and slow your skin should have enough elasticity to shrink back without a problem. And to your girlie question … yes you will lose the pouch ! I am down 50 and it is gone now , not sure how much I had lost for it to not be noticeable any more but now that you brought it up I remember how that bothered me @ 242 lbs ! LOL0

Every body is different and factors like age, time the weight was on, genetics, etc...can all play a role, not just exercise.
As for me personally, going from 307 to 199 I have seen big positive changes (not a lot of saggy skin etc) in my legs (including thighs), hips, lower belly, pubis (pouch has turned into a mound, very pleased), forearms, and my back. Also my armpits look better...god that sounds insane.
Negatives for me are excess saggy/loose skin on my upper arms. That's not going anywhere soon. My breasts do sag a little but not drastically more than before. I have a "B" shaped belly and the lower part as I said, is shrinking well but the upper part is just getting smaller but still definitely a "roll" and not flattening yet. I know I'll always have excess skin there and for me that is not a huge issue, I have no designs on bikini wearing ever.
FWIW I am 37 and was at least 240-260 lb for close to 20 years.0 -
I started at 237# and now weight 160#, I have always remained active throughout my weight loss so thankfully my skin is not saggy:)0

I have been around the same weight now for almost a year. I still have a pouch, have excess skin on my upper arms, and my stomach is still flabby. In my mind, I know it is all extra skin, but it still bothers me. I just have to keep in mind that I was overweight a good part of my teenage years and some of my 20's, almost 10 years. I'm hoping with continuos diet and exercise it will eventually go away. If it doesn't, I may have surgery to fix it, that would be after kids though.0

Any way you look at 150 will always be better than how you feel at 225. Just do it! Worry about other stuff not this.0 -
i lost 86 lbs and i have some loose skin... i'm a little concerned on how i'll LOOK.. but it comes second to how i FEEL.. so i have some wrinkly skin under my arms and between my legs... i'll work out and hopefully some day it'll snap back.. but i won't let it bother me.. i'll wear it as a badge of honor if i have to.. i feel amazing and look way better even with the skin... it won't hinder me from losing more and feeling better and stronger! vanity! sheesh!0

Lots of factors....how much was the skin stretched, how long was the skin stretched, genetics.....some people just have great skin.
The best advice I've seen.....lose weight at a moderate pace & exercise. Keeping muscles firm & tight helps. Time also helps.0 -

I love you so much for saying this.
The OP's concerns are mine as well. I'm going from 235 to 125-130, I'm at 219 now, and I'm 22. I have 94 pounds to go.0 -
I am in a different category..but do think that losing slow and using a great moisturizer all over your body twice a day at least will help your skin snap back better. I'd also look at nutrition and supplements as well.
I think when large people lose super quick... the skin just can't keep up with the loss..and sagging results.0 -
I've lost 83 pounds (240-157) and I still have some flab (especially my "mommy pouch" from 2 babies and NO restraint concerning my diet when pregnant) It's getting smaller but I'll always have awful stretch marks so no bikini for me. My arms & legs are smaller and I have almost no loose skin, just some extra fat that I'm focusing on now with body weight exercises. Even with my little bit of extra flab, I FEEL a hundred times better after losing the equivalent of my 11 year old son. :-) you won't care about the skin, you'll be feeling too awesome for your loss!0

It's impossible to say. I still have flabby arms, but much less, and it's not loose skin. I have a bit of loose skin inside my thighs but it doesn't hang or anything. The only really bad place is my stomach... it's pretty bad... but still much better than it was with pounds of fat underneath.
Oh and for what it's worth... being active etc has absolutely nothing to do with it. I was active the whole time too. It has more to do with genetics and how long you were overweight for. I was obese for 10 years (I'm 35).0
