Sugar?

Hey Fitness members, I'm slightly confused so thought I'd post. I LOVE fruit and I ADORE Sharon fruit, apples and pears yummy, however I've logged my fruit and it's taken up all my sugar count? Does this mean I can't have anymore? Vegetables have sugar in too (2g) so does that mean I can't have any vegetables tonight? Doesn't sound right haha.

The sugar number provided by MFP is for added sugars, and is based on the US RDA. MFP does not differentiate between added and naturally occurring sugars, so the number is low.

If you don't have any medical issues where you need to avoid carbs and sugar, you really don't need to watch the sugar number. It is better to just track overall carbs.

I personally have removed sugar from my diary main page and track fiber instead.
  • Well today I've ate 2 apples, pear and a sharon fruit . Okay I think I too will replace it with fibre :)

Disregard the sugar macro. It is only there in case you need to track it for medical reasons.

The sugar limit is a generous 15% of your total calories; if you're exceeding that limit perhaps your diet would be more balanced if you ate more vegetables than fruit?

I just ignore it and swapped it out for fiber. Just from eating yogurt and some fruit in the morning I had pretty much filled it for the entire day, so the data was useless to me.

I missed that they changed it... probably because I don't track it

Interestingly, I just took a look at my reports and the sugar number didn't update when MFP made the change. It was because I had set my goals manually. I had to go back to set my goals, use "guided" and then it updated the number.

    edit for typo.
