Belly Hang Help :(

I'm a little bit worried as I need to get my body fat % down, which is currently 43%. On a body scan, I've got 47kg of fat and 57kg of fat free mass, ie muscle etc.
My belly over hangs a little with fat and droops down ever so slightly. I'm worried that if I lose the excess fat that I'll have baggy belly skin, instead of tightening up.
What do you guys reckon?

I think it just depends. I've seen cases where it did stay there/get worse, I've also seen cases where you can't even tell anymore. I do strength training, and have gone from about 32% down to 24% BF so far, and mine was pretty bad when I first started out. It's definitely not all gone, but I was really worried about it getting worse and it actually seems to have gotten a bit better than it was to begin with. I don't think I'll be wearing a bikini anytime soon, but I don't have to make sure to tuck it in anymore  I would say that you should definitely do some type of strength training to help both with that, and to keep as much muscle mass as possible while you lose the weight. Good luck!0

No one can say how your body will respond to weightloss. As the above poster said, strength training will help as will losing the weight slowly if possible, staying hydrated and possibly moisturiser. Even when you're done losing weight your skin will continue to change for about a year. I haven't seen much change in weight over the last few months and I haven't been exercising since before Christmas but I still think the loose skin on my tummy has got a little better. For Try not to worry too much about your skin at the moment, its sounds as though its really important for you to start shedding the pounds otherwise you might not be in need of skin much longer.0

Boogage, what do you mean by that??
I already do strength training - every day. In the mornings I do cardio (a mix of HIIT and more moderate pace on alternating days) then in the evenings I do upper body then lower body weights on alternating days.0 -
I mean that I think you should worry about your health first and any problems like loose skin can be dealt with later if necessary although as I said there are a few things you can do along the way to help. I've seen some people halt their journey to health and fitness because they aren't looking the way they hoped and recently one of those friends died of a heart attack in his early 40's. If you're doing cardio and strength then it sounds like you have a good plan and fingers crossed your skin will catch up.0

why worry.. would you rather be fat0

why worry.. would you rather be fat
cause that's what we women do...we don't want to be fat but we also don't want to be slim and have what "looks" like fat hanging all on our bellies...some of our desire to lose weight is not health driven it's vanity driven....just like you.
To the OP mine used to do that too...when I was "fat" and I have had a child so add in the nice tiger stripes too..
I have over the last year lost 40lbs and mine is not hanging anymore...not even skin. If you lose at a reasonable rate your skin has time to keep up and as the other poster said...stay hydrated, use a good lotion with vitamin E and give it time.0
