How accurate is Lifetime Fitness RMR testing

My resting metabolism according to their tests is 1267. They suggested a 1050 a day weight loss plan.

Wow, that sounds like way too low. I was previously a member of Lifetime Fitness and they are constantly trying to sell you different tests and training/nutrition services. I have honestly gotten better advice for free from these message boards.0

I don't know what equipment they're using or how the staff is trained (I used to do metabolic testing in a hospital), so I can't speak to the accuracy, but that number could certainly be a reasonable approximation of your RMR/BMR. You shouldn't, however, eat below that number. You need to calculate your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure)--and be honest when you fill out the form--and subtract 10-15% off of that as your target intake.
