I don't know if I'm "new" anymore, but I've been here for a week or so. :)

I have to say, this site is great, but I'm finding the process very frustrating. While in college, I tried to lose some weight and lost maybe 6 or 7 pounds a week, but as I try it now, I'm only losing 2 or 3 pounds a week.. That's maybe a year difference.

Either way, I'm happy to be losing some weight!

I'm a vegetarian, so eating healthier isn't very difficult.. but it's always hard giving up my favourites!! Mmm, I love pizza. :D

I want to say I'm doing this for only the best reasons, but to be honest, I want to look hot. I want to look gorgeous in a gown when I get married and feel good about myself when I go out with the girls.

And of course all the health reasons.. I hear it's easier to concieve children (when I'm ready) if I'm at a healthier weight.

I've seen a lot of people who have lost considerable amounts using this site, I hope one day I can be the person that someone looks to for inspiration and encouragement.

    Welcome to MFP! This site is set up for a long term and healthy weight loss which is 1 to 2(sometimes more)lbs. a week. It's set up this way so you learn to eat properly over time w/out a weight bounce back when you are done losing. It takes longer but it is worth it in the long run. Good luck!

    good luck girly! It will be worth it losing it at a slower pace - it means you're doing it the right way! Trust me doesn't mean its not aggrevating took me almost 5 consistent weeks to lose 5 lbs. but its getting easier and easier now!
  • Thanks for the feedback! I'm looking to lose 100lbs, so losing only a couple pounds a week seems so daunting! :S At this rate it'll take me.. close to a year to lose all my weight. i'm sure i can do that! :)

    I'm new too and i am officially starting tomorrow morning.

    A friend of mine recently lost 6 stone and she swears by drinking water. She had a huge change, where it was the only thinkg she drank, don't think i can go that far lol. But apparently it stops you feeling hungry and encourages the body to lose weight so i'm gonna glue a bottle to my hand ;)

  • Jess welcome. This is a great site to help you reach your goal. It has all the tools we need to get there and all the great members lending support is just an added advantage for you. Use the tools available and friend alot of people or invite your friends to join, you'd be amazed at how much support helps.
  • 2-3 lbs a week is really good! I'm hoping to lose 2 lbs a week :)
