help I think I have press up-phobia...

Can someone give me some advice how I can do at least 1 press up? Every time I get in the start position, my body flat out refuses to go down. My arms involuntarily lock into position and no matter how much I try to talk my body down, it just won't move. I've tried from the kneeling position and it's only marginally better but it still takes a while for me to talk my body around. Is this even normal? It's so frustrating.

    Never heard of anything like that. But try starting from the ground, then pushing yourself up.
