Need a Support Network

Hi! My name is Michelle. I have attempted/failed at most diets out there. I am turning 30 this year and decided that this is the year that I have to get the 130lbs off. I have used mfp several times before and never kept with it. I am looking for a group of friends that can help keep me on track. I have hardly any support network. My husband is skinny and has one of metabolisms that allow him to eat anything and not gain a pound. I have honestly began to believe that he eats and I gain the weight for him, without enjoying the food. He doesn't understand what it means to be a support person...he tries... he really does...but he doesn't get it. I need to get the weight off this year. I am so tired of being tired. I am so tired of trying to get ready in the morning and not being able to wear what I want to wear because it is too tight or if I sit down to quick the button might just pop! I want to go into a store and actually find things I like (if you are a younger plus size female you know what I am talking about!). So if you have time in your day to help me it would be greatly appreciated, please friend me.

Hi! We're already friends, but I just wanted to take a minute to say that you are very brave for having decided to become a happier and healthier person! :) I'll support you 100%!! It's gonna be tough, but if you keep at it long enough, you'll see fabulous changes in yourself that will make you want to keep going! I've always been so embarrassed by my weight (I'm a pear shape too), until I decided that enough is enough. First, I'm not going to feel shame anymore. I'm going to give my body and soul the good food and positive emotions they deserve.

It's a work in progress, but then again, isn't it always? ;) I'm trying to make serious lifestyle changes, and it looks like you are too. Which leads me to my next point: We can do this!!! <3

Have a wonderful Monday! :) Stay positive!

    Hi Michelle,

I am new to the site, and though I am not young like you (I am 51), I do understand your situation with a husband who does not have the same challenges with weight that you have. My husband can lose weight easily by just cutting back on soda. He also skips lunch to lose weight. As I have gotten older, skipping meals really makes me feel ill all over, which really impacts my work. It is really tough for me to make out a grocery list for me to lose weight when he says all of the low-fat or no-fat versions of foods taste horrible (and he can eat them without gaining weight). Since we don't have the money for "his food" and "my food," I end up eating whatever is in the house. Oh....If I decide to go to the store to get the healthy versions for me, he complains if I don't buy his unhealthy options and goes out and blows the budget by buying his versions also. I love him, but he has no idea how saving 10 g of fat and 150 calories could help me lose the weight. Having spewed out all of my whining, I will definitely support you. Losing weight is always tough, but I can be that person who encourages you to exercise when you just don't feel like it that day, and you can do the same for me!! Others have succeeded at changing their lives by losing weight despite challenges, and I know we can too!!!!

I just turned 30 at the end of November and started off with the same amount to lose as you do now. I would love to help support you in your journey (and anyone else needing it too) feel free to add me!
