Just don't touch the bag of candy... I'm a girl scout troop leader with lots of boxes of cookies in my house right now... and when I say lots I mean it... I believe I have over 600 boxes of cookies in my house... I just think bout how I would feel if I ate any of them...
  • Either give them to a kid or drop them off at the office! I'd recommend buying yourself some sugarless gum to quell your sweet tooth. Or, if you're a chocolate girl, get some hot chocolate and have 1 cup with some cinnamon at night as a treat (4 hours before you sleep, that is!). Remember, the more accessible the junk food, the more tempted you'll be and the easier it will be to fall off and binge.

I made one rule that helped me - I plan my meals to use up most, if not all, of my normal calories. And then whatever I burn in exercise, I am allowed to eat in junk food after dinner. The set time keeps me from munching, because I know it's coming, and it keeps me from eating ALL my calories in unhealthy foods.

Well, it worked the last time I was here, anyway. Doing the same thing this time around, and so far, so good! :) Feel free to add me!

I have 2 hershey kisses a day. I just make sure I have enough left in my day to allow them.

Don't do it! I catch myself going to the kitchen to grab something....even though I am not hungry. I then think about how I am going to post it and why do I need it... I am new to mfp, and I am learning to reconnect with my will power! feel free to add me.

Best advice I can give....find the people that have been here a while and have had success. Figure out your TDEE and BMR...don't eat below your BMR....about 15% to 20% below your TDEE. Move your body.
  • One of the first things I did when I decided to start taking care of myself and improve my diet was throwing out all my unhealthy food. It might seem really wasteful, but found it was the best way to avoid the temptation. Fruits are a great replacement for sweet tooth cravings!

    1. This. I'm the kind of person who will eat the junk food if it's in the house. Just don't keep it in the house and, when you decide to have it, finish it or toss it or give it to someone else.
    2. When you let yourself "cut loose," like on the weekend, make it ONE day, not 2-3 days. Keep counting calories.
    3. Don't undereat and lose muscle.
    4. Balance your diet. Fruits and veggies are carbs, yet aren't bad for you. So don't avoid carbs, but don't overeat any other thing. If anything, eat more protein and balance your carb / fat intake. I've heard a ratio of 40% carbs, 30% protein (more than you'd think when you actually track it) and 30% fat. You can set these levels in your goals / settings.
    5. Exercise as often and as vigorously as possible.

I would probably start by getting rid of the chocolate in the freezer.
