Eating under calories... but too late at night!!

Watched a video by Shaun T about why people might do his programs and not lose weight: Among other reasons, one might be that even if you are eating clean/nutritious and under your calorie goals, if you eat all those calories at one time, and that one time is later in the evening, you stall weight loss because your body figures you aren't going to feed it and it needs to retain those calories.

This is anecdotal but it makes sense... what do you think? What has your experience been?

I think Shaun T. has a line of videos he wants to sell you. Along with a bridge in the fine state of New York.

He also has a new training partner...

This is also anecdotal, but I've been eating all my calories (minus my morning coffee) starting at 3pm and often going to as late as 10pm. I stay in a deficit, and lose.

    Huh.

You've got your answer. It's bull. I eat like 500 calories right before bed every single day.

Why would you think that makes sense? Your body processes food you eat 24 hours a day. Why would eating late at night magically make your body stop burning calories? All that matters is the number of calories you eat, not when you eat them. That's basic science.

I'm proof that this is not true. I eat an awful lot at night, but 99 percent of the time I am still under my calorie goal.
