4 weeks update (1wk of MFP)

Wow! I can't believe I've stuck to eating healthier for 4whole weeks, no sugar, no alcohol ...just healthier choices.

My meals now consist of things like salmon, tuna, chicken, beef, eggs, veg/salad, plain F/f yogurt ( LSA in my smoothies), fruit, cannellini beans, couscous & rice occasionally. I spice them up with chilli flakes, cumin, coriander etc. I'm enjoying what I'm eating too.

So January 1st was my start date and my stats are....

SW - 245
CW - 237
GW - 168

Height 5'9

Tomorrow I will jump on the scales and weigh in!

Today I had a little jelly wobble on MFP as I went into goals and saw that my height was slightly out and so was my goal weight so I reset them and next thing I know my total calorie allowance has gone up 20 cals! Well I know my current weight has gone down 8lbs but surely my calories should have too??? Or do I have this wrong? Gone from 1470 to 1490. Ok it's only 20 cals but I'm just starting out using MFP and I'm confused already. ;-)

Also I'm a Mom and put down my activity level as slightly active but not quite sedentary ......is this right? Because the calorie difference there is big! That would be 1200 yikes.

Next week I'll be adding exercise, so I'll be at the pool doing some walk/swim routine ( I guess my activity level will be slightly active then).

I won't lie ( as most of you know) it's not easy suddenly going from eating without thinking to making a tremendous effort in making better choices and sticking to them. Slowly but surely I will get there, after all it's been 20 years of being overweight and I can't expect it all to change in 1 month! Easy to say but even harder to accept when you want results on the scale immediately. So without fail I read the success stories everyday to keep me on track because that works for me.

I'm loving the simplicity of MFP and the support from all of its users.... Thank you

Way to go! I once read it takes "6 weeks" for something in your life to become a habit! You're almost there!
