Today I dug out the 'kini that I haven't worn since last summer. I've put on around 5 pounds since the beginning of summer, but its because I was previously unhealthy. Those 5 lbs were not part of the required gain back to a healthy weight, but rather the result of trying to get out of the binge/restrict cycle and getting used to eating (binging) whenever I wanted and making an effort to.reacquaint myself with food and not be scared.

ANYWAY

Since the summer, ive been going to the gym. I was sorta skinny fat, but I got pretty serious about lifting around November and I'm seeing positive changes! I put the bikini on and felt pretty good about myself! It means a lot because body image has always been a struggle, but being proud of the way I looked makes me want to keep going! I'm going to Disney world in March and I'll be wearing that bikini happily if I can stay body positive and continue what I'm doing.

Hoe about you guys? Did you have NSVs today?

Congratulations, that's really awesome. Dealing with issues around food is so tough, and it sounds like you've really got a handle on what it would mean to be healthy and to have a non-scared relationship with food! I was sinking into a disordered relationship with food last year, and I spent the last eighteen months practicing eating food and not hating myself for it, and while I gained weight, I also gained a different and better relationship with my body and with food. Now I am working out a lot, eating well (and plenty), and using the food tracker mainly to make sure I'm eating enough as I lose weight.

My NSV today was that I went snowshoeing, five miles through deep powder, and I had energy to spare and felt terrific while I did it. Turns out that "losing weight" doesn't suck when I am eating enough food to give me energy!

I am doing a squat challenge and today I did 80 squats in 2 sets of 40 instead of 4 sets of 20. I am also going to Disney World but I'm going next month so I already know that my NSV will be being able to fit properly in all the rides. When I went 2 yrs ago there were unfortunately a few rides I didn't fit comfortably on.
