Not sure I've ever bought one... but a couple of months ago someone gave me Arcade Fire's "Reflektor" as a gift. And a few months prior to that someone else gave me The National's "Trouble Will Find Me".

I loooove having physical cds in hands, so I'm still buying some very often. I like cd artworks and looking/reading what is inside (sometimes you have fun parts haha).
Last order was Enter Shikari - A Flash Flood of Colour and Mallory Knox - Signals, both in Deluxe edition last month.
And I just received a belated Christmas present, You Me At Six - Cavalier Youth.
(My post looks like an ad for British music haha)0 -
The last CD I bought was in 2001, if someone comes out with something good, then I will buy it. Digital copies can get lost, always good to have a hard copy.0

My boyfriend and I like to have CDs in the car for when we don't hook up the iPods, so we usually buy CDs every now and then, usually used ones. I think we last bought some in the fall. Tegan and Sara, underoath, a day to remember, Atreyu. Trivium, stuff like that. I like a bit of everything, including metal which he is primarily into so we mostly buy metal and rock albums. Not sure why he doesn't want me to play Taylor Swift... (Lol).0

I bought my gf Fallout Boys CD for Christmas. She's a Luddite and doesn't like mp3s, smartphones etc. She still plays albums on vinyl.0

You youngsters get off my lawn. You see this frisbee? It's mine now! :laugh:0 -
I still buy physical media. Then I rip it, and put the CD in a drawer, never to be seen again. But I know it's there, and I know it will still be there even if my hard drive and Google's servers simultaneously fry themselves.
Call me old fashioned if you will, but I like receiving physical goods in exchange for my hard-earned. Not much chance of Amazon beating down my door and forcibly taking back a CD when they realize they didn't have license to sell it.
I also buy second hand media and get great deals. I considered paying $10 a month for Google unlimited music, or a similar service. Then realized that by spending just $10 a month on second hand media, within a couple of years my collection would grow substantially, and if I decided to stop paying the $10 a month, I could still listen to everything I already bought. Again, I rip those CDs and put them straight on the cloud.
Best of both worlds, if you ask me.0 -
Wow...my memory is shot! I don't think it was all that long ago. I think the last one I bought was Mumford and Son's- Babel0
