And so I begin (again!)... My story.

Hi all,
I've used MFP on and off for the last few years, but have never used the forums. Having discovered them this week, I think they might be part of the boost I need to carry on my weight loss... although this time I definitely feel the most determined I ever have. (I'm sure I've probably said that every time!)
Over the the last few years I have made progress in weight loss on and off, only to fall off the wagon and struggle to return. Last January my best friend and I began the weight loss journey together... again. I lost a stone within the first 6 weeks and felt like I had momentum, however I got distracted by various things I used as excuses really, weekends away, catch up's with old friends, day surgery on 3 occasions - each time banning me from exercising for 4wks at a time, and gradually fell away.
Throughout the year I watched my best friend dramatically transform herself, and of course was immensely proud of her achievements and determination, but naturally became extremely disheartened in myself for not sticking with the weight loss.
I decided 2 weeks before xmas that it was time to sort it out, and get myself back on track. I've began going back to the fitness classes (that I've been paying for but not attending lol) and back to healthy eating. I am definitely making progress, having lost 11lbs since December (the previous loss shown below was between Oct-Dec, incidentally without trying - if only it were always that easy!) I have maintained the eating well, and am trying new classes such as Metafit which I previously believed I was too heavy to do.
There are undoubtedly the days when I need a bit more of a push, and to keep my head in the right direction i.e. understanding that a 2lb loss each week is something to be proud of, not something to get down about, and that slow and steady wins the race, despite the times when I look at my lowest weight on my WiiFit and wonder how I let myself go so far upwards again. I've found the success stories section on here incredibly inspiring, as it really does show that it can be done! I've taken some 'before pics' well, from today, and hopefully I maintain the determination to finally write 'THE POST' in that section that shows I've managed to achieve my goal.
Anyway, after me rambling on a bit, but just wanted to pen this down so to speak, to show where I'm at, back at the beginning, and where I hopefully plan to go.
Friend requests are most definitely welcome also, if it helps boost us all that little bit more!

Welcome again. As long as you keep getting back on the horse after each fall, you're making progress. When u stop trying at all is when u fail. The success stories are great motivation for me as well. I love seeing other people achieve their goals. It makes me believe I can do it too. Hang in there and keep moving forward! We can do this together!!0

I too have a history of starting , stopping and beginning again. I have my eating wired in and do well consistently with that , my struggle is staying consistent with exercise. My daughter Leah has had tremendous success and is a total inspiration to me . I may have lost a little momentum but I am far from giving up and am determined to reverse my diabetes 2. I will be traveling to see her in New Mexico in March and want to become the Mom I should be.0

I know! I'm definitely in a better mindset for it this time round. Let's see if I make the am class hahaha!! Love ya xxx
