Pilates

Any one do Pilates? I recently just got back into it, used to do it when I was a teenager. I've never been flexible, as a child I had some weird build up of fluid in my knees, doctors told me to stretch every day, and well, I didn't and I still am having problems stretching and doing certain moves. Any one else relate? Suggestions?

Add in some yoga or do a hybrid program. They go really well together!

I'm doing pilates and I love it. I never have huge problems with flexibility, but pilates is probably the way to go. Just take your time and you can notice the difference after a while. I do after a few weeks and I can generally see advancement.

Only a newbie at it, but do a combined yoga/pilates type class to music @ local gym, always feel refreshed afterwards and do find it really helps with my back (previous injury.)
  • I do pilates, ive only just started over the last 3 weeks, but I go once a week and love it! I also go to a body balance class which is a mixture of yoga, pilates and other things. :-)

i have a short pilates routine i do nightly that only takes 20 minutes, but really helps with flexibility and toning without lifting weights. I have a torn rotor cuff so the pilates is easier on it. I use the moves off of the dvd Leslie Sansone Pilates for Dummies. lol.
If I skip a few nights I can really notice the difference in flexibility.
