Banana/Egg Pancakes?

Has anybody tried that recipe that involves mashing a banana with 2 whisked eggs to create pancakes?

I thought about trying it out, but was wondering if anybody had experience with it.
Thanks in advance

I make banana pancakes all the time.

    recipe:
1 small banana mashed (about 80g)
    10g instant quick cooking oatmeal
    1 scoop vanilla whey protein
    2 egg whites
about half a tsp baking powder
about half a tsp of cinnamon (cos I love cinnamon :) )

mix all of that and cook in a sprayed non stick pan

I top it with fat free yoghurt.

    devine!
  • I do that with a whole egg, a large banana , cinnamon( cocoa powder if I'm in the mood), but without the other stuff. Nut butter/coconut nectar/ honey topping with fresh berries.
    My favorite breakfast.
Oh and, cook it in coconut oil. It is soo yimmy that way.

I find that the banana/egg ratio has to be fiddled with a little bit to get the right consistency, but the simple 2-ingredient recipe works just fine. Adding a bit of cinammon, vanilla, or nutmeg to taste works nicely too.

    I love these.

I use one whole egg, one whole banana, 1/2 tsp of baking powder, 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract. They are a little hard to flip, so it is better to make them small.

Don't need syrup with them either.
  • Tried them &loved them!
They're a great alternative to normal pancakes.
I actually like them more

I like them, too! But I could definitely taste the banana (yum). Another recipe I like is 2 eggs, 2oz cream cheese, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon....tastes a little like fluffy french toast!

    Love 'em!

1 banana, 2 eggs, dash of vanilla, dash of cinnamon. Mash it all together. Pour into hot non-stick pan. Served with reduced calorie maple flavored syrup (2 tbsp) you come in at about 318 cals for the whole shabang.

We made something similar this morning.
200g or thereabouts of egg whites
    one banana
    one scoop vanilla protein powder
mixed up, fired off and then topped with chocolate orange nutella spread.
    Heavenly!

That's not a real pancake. Thats a scrambled banana egg.
I'd rather have a real pancake.

banana, eggs, almond or coconut milk or water, coconut flour (not much at all!) buckwheat flour, protein powder & vanilla
roughly follow the proportions for pancakes - fiddling with the amounts til it seems right - they end up different every time!

It taste pretty close to a pancake though

Not to anyone with taste buds. If you want protein pancakes then simply add protein powder to real pancakes and they turn out fairly well (not as good as plain buttermilk pancakes but much better than fruit and egg omelet).

There is something seriously wrong with this idea that all good tasting food needs to be replaced so one can lose weight. It simply isn't necessary.

This sounds legit, even for a substitute recipe! :drinker:

Not to mention I've eaten single serve pancakes till they're coming out my ears. This is just something different that you either find appetizing or you don't!

I agree. Which is why I just eat things that taste good. like these banana pancakes. I don't even like regular pancakes, but these are rad.

Here's my take on the recipe. I'm a peanut butter fan but have switched to almond butter. The trick is removing the grains :) Enjoy!

Okay, so guys! I tried the 2 ingredient recipe. It's so different from *real* pancakes, but it worked. They weren't perfect circles though. But they just taste like bananas, I couldn't really taste that scrambled egg part. I put some peanut butter on them and it was really tasty! I will have to try it again soon. Practice makes perfect !

I make mine with one banana, one egg, one egg white, and 1/4 cup oats...in the blended. (Cinnamon too sometimes) yummy and nutritious!

No...not a real pancake. I have those too sometimes. But these are tasty, quick, and made with stuff I normally have around for a fast breakfast. Win.

I make cookie pancakes (we call them panickies lolz). Although, I just did it because it was yummy.... I guess it's not a pancake... They look like it, and have the right texture.... ;) Chocolate chip pancakes are not the same. Nom nom nom.
