How to get through a plateau

The scale has stopped moving in spite of staying on calorie goal and exercising. Any suggestions on how NOT to give up and somehow keep moving towards goal?

I take a diet break every 3 months and eat at TDEE for a week or two. I get the impression it boosts my metabolism. When I return to deficit the scale starts moving again.0

I know it is said that at a plateau, we need to go back to a day or so of regular eating then return back to our program, I have had to do this is the past and it works.0
