Hi,
I've been back on MFP for just over 4 weeks now, and with over 100lbs to lose, I am disappointed at my progress. I have lost 13lbs, but seeing as I have a HUGE amount of weight to lose, have gone from doing pretty much no form of excercise to walking at least 30 minutes each day and eating more healthier food (and much to my dispare, cutting down on my crisp intake!). I would 've thought I'd have lost more weight than this. Am I just being mard, or are other people experiencing the same thing?
Thanks

I can guarantee those 13lbs. you lost was water weight.
Give it time. You can expect to lose a lb or two a week following MFP calories.
You didn't gain weight overnight from eating poorly, and you won't lose it within a week.0 -
I'm the same! My first month has been 11 pounds lost and now nothing or maybe a pound or two. I'm thinking of doing more exercise as I do a workout dvd twice a week I might increase it to four times a week and see if it works Jess x0

you are doing excellent!! Don't focus on how much is left, focus on how much you have already accomplished!! You've done a month of making healthy decisions and you have already lost 13 lbs!!
Remember you didn't gain it in day, you won't lose it in a day. These things take time but it is worth it and you need to tell yourself you are worth the effort!
Losing at a healthy rate (2 lbs/wk) means you will be less likely to rebound and gain it back. Why go through this twice? I say take your time, make smart choices and develop healthy habits good luck!0 -
13lbs in one month and you're disappointed!?
I'll be lucky to lose that this YEAR.0 -

Definitely being mad
You have to consider the first few weeks you will see high loses due to stored water weight (generally caused by high sodium). So when you start monitor calories, sodium usually drops. Below are some general guidelines to follow during your weight loss. Also, if your diet is high in carbs, then you will store more glycogen/water. Generally, most of us will suggest altering your macronutrients as MFP is fairly low with protein. I prefer around 40% carbs, 30% protein and fats. And if you exercise, eat a few hundred more calories.
While I know its difficult now, but your journey shouldn't solely be focused on weight loss, but rather maximizing fat loss while minimizing muscle loss. You do that with resistance training and higher levels of protein (generally around 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass).
Like I always say, don't let short term goals effect long term results.
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal,
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal, and
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal.0
