Paleo - Please

Options
Hello everyone!

My name is Margaret. I am bordline diabetic. I lost 50 lbs 2 years ago doing the paleo/primal. However I gained 30 lbs of it back due to going back to old eating habits. I tried eating healthier, counting calories, salt in take, etc but nothing works for me. So I decided to do the Paleo. But it is hard to get this lifestyle going! I need help - advice.

How do you do the Paleo? How many carbs do you consume to lose weight? (I am really confused on the daily intake of carbs). Any success stories of the Paleo lifestyle?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

There are many books on Paleo right now. I would suggest starting by checking out these two sites:

http://www.marksdailyapple.com/ -- Mark is the guru of the Paleo movement

http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/ -- Steve at Nerd Fitness has put together a beginner's guide to the Paleo Diet.

    Hope this helps.

There is no "one and only" Paleo diet for everyone. I follow a ketogenic version of Paleo which suits my issues with metabolic disorder. I have been following this lifestyle for over a year and a half and it's permenent and sustainable for me.

As mentioned, Mark Sisson is a great resource. I would also strongly recommend "Your Personal Paleo Code" by Chris Kresser.

I have lots of personal experience with this lifestyle and would be happy to share about it in the Primal/Paleo Support Group. In fact, you will find many people there willing to help, answer questions, and share experiences.
